Regulator leak

Have you tried removing it and replacing the O rings using the o rings in Captain O Ring avenger package? If not try Removing and replacing o rings once more.

If you cannot solve a simple leak yourself I'd suggest sending the components to a competent gunsmith... hows that for help?

I have used all 8 o-rings from 2 Captain O-ring packages. I have cleaned the reg. each time and applied various amounts of silicone grease to each try. The leak is very slow about 200 psi per day. I thought that one of the many members here may have a solution for me. I must say that you have a pretty snotty attitude for such a NEW member! Pls don't reply if you don't have a possible solution. I don't need the aggravation!

Take a look at the seat that seals the air passage it may need to be cleaned up you could sand it flat if it is all beat up but you would have to use like 600 grit then a 1000 grit and it needs to stay flat then take a look at the other piece of the seat which is usually metal it may also need to be sanded a touch if it is damaging the seat

Also don’t just swap out o rings, sir. Part of “rebuilding” a reg is to clean it all out with either denatured alcohol or acetone.

I am unfamiliar with the reg and how it’s positioned in an avenger. If it’s a tube installed reg like a typical Huma in a wildcat I’ve found that sometimes “seasoning” the air tube in the area only where the reg sits at helps. That is to completely remove all lubes using acetone, then take a fine grit like 1500 wet/dry sandpaper and scuff up the area where the reg sits at. Clean the tube one more time with acetone and just apply a thin coat of silicone lube on the o rings.

the o rings now have a good biting point in the tube to create the seal.

sometimes too much lube in an air tube causes an o ring to roll once the air pressure pushes against it, causing a leak

Yes ... the inner part that slides back/forth with the spring washers around it is the spool. There is a smaller diameter and larger diameter, both have o-rings,

Thanks, I've tried to get that apart with now success. I'll try again. The outer O-ring is OK, but I hav'nt been able to check the inner one. I'll try to come up with something that will let me unscrew the reg. to get at the inner O-ing.
