Air Venturi Regulator Pressure ?

Have a new air venturi( first fill) at 3500 air tank pressure.

Regulator was set at 2800 (came regulated from store).

After about 30-40 shots now the air tank pressure is around 2800 and the sound of shot is weak and pellet is being shot out but not hitting target?


Is this normal?

Ok, that's what I was thinking .

Another thing is I don't have a compressor at the time.

A guy at the range was kind enough to air up for.

Just wanted to make sure,

So once it reaches it regulated stage it won't shoot under the regulated pressure set?

Aside from needing to fill it back up...

If the gauge shows the reg is set at 2800psi but suddenly pellets are dribbling out of the barrel as soon as the reservoir gauge says 2800psi, one or both of them is way off the mark. Granted, the little ~25mm gauges are known for being inaccurate but that sounds way outside the norm.

2800 as a REG Set Point .... for most of us is REALLY HIGH !!!
Most of us using REGULATED PCP's find between .177 cal to .30 cal run from @ 1600 to 2200 psi more times than not.

I'm learning and I know I have to drop it to 1800 on my .22

You can drop down to 1400 on the reg and still be shooting 900+ fps with CPHP pellets or 1200 and be 875 fps, just something to think about and your shot count will go way up. I dont know what your plans are for the rifle but its plenty for squirrels and other small game.

My plan is to target shoot mainly and bird hunt here and there.

I already have the cross man premier hollow point, 500ct.

Now need to refill the gun and drop the regulator

Don't turn that reg down without draining bottle first turn all the way down then back out 1/4 turn that will give about 1400psi

Yes, I will have to drain 1st then set reg low and fill bottle up.
