What solvent is best to remove sticky residue from scope and moderator from my secondhand QB78 that the previous owner put on. Going to do strip down and tune up so thinking about taking tape off.

Any adhesive remover....I use single packs like eyeglass cleaner that are usually used in medical applications.

Any lite oil should remove that residue. Household 3 in 1 oil, sewing machine oil. Heck I’d bed salad oil would work to. It will take a bit of elbow grease also.

You can also use lighter fluid, the same kind you would use with a zippo lighter. It evaporates very quickly, leaves no residue, does not damage surfaces, and works quite well. I've done it many times with many types of glues including those similar to camo tape.
