Repairing chip, dings, and scratches on airgun finish.

Folks, how do you approach fixing small chips, dings, and scratches on your airgun finish without repainting it? Like the ones I've posted below. It looks like enamel was chipped off. I know you can simply use Birchwood Casey touch-up pen, but it would not fill gaps and in general I did not have good experience Birchwood touch-up pens before except if it was used on anodized finish. I was thinking of trying to use something like Testors semi-gloss enamel paint. Fill the gap, let it dry, polish excess paint off with fine grit sandpaper, and repeat until I level up the chip edges and make it disappear. Or maybe some other type of touch-up paint would work better. Or maybe it's a bad idea altogether :). Before I try anything, I wanted to ask for the wisdom of the community here and see if anyone has a better idea or experience with repairing such small imperfections on a gun finish. Hope to hear from experts soon. Thank you guys!!!

it looks to be an Artemis 750
the repair will be a band aid at best matching paint is near impossible
you need the sand it back get all the flaking to stop and respray it with some semi-gloss
if possible i would strip the paint off after i removed all the parts and recoated it
the gun is filthy at best and all the speckles all over it are what

This is how I got the gun, it's in working condition fully functional, but cosmetically it is far from perfect as you can see :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:. No idea what these speckles are, I wiped it down and this is how it is. I'll try to clean with some middle solvent to see if I can get it off. So, it's more of a project for me to try to restore it to its former glory. Thank you for the reply @marflow 777!

The Testors will work but will be soft for several weeks. That's the downside of enamel oil based paints.

For a shooter where you just want it black again, M-Nu emblem refinisher has worked for me (it's in a small bottle like nail polish or automotive touch up). I don't know what solvent carrier it uses, but it flashes off quickly, at least that's what the old bottle I had was like.

You may be better off just recoating a larger area with a spray can gun finish, especially for a high wear part.

you can try Birchwood Casey Aluminium black ..or black nail polish
it's just going to make it less noticible..like others have said ..a band-aid at best
here's a link for the BC

This is what I use. It comes in three sheens. I think you need satin. Mix flat with semi. Cures pretty fast for oil base.
Spray it and it lays out glassy. Rattle cans are junk IMO. Can be really nice when brushed but I am a pro with a brush. I have all 3 sheens in 8 oz cans.
For overall painting I use the cheap little Harbor Freight gun. Blows away any rattle can job. You have to thin the paint some and adjust air pressure accordingly. The whole kit is so cheap you don't even have to clean up the jars. After 5 jobs throw it away and buy another set.
I upgraded the crappy plastic hose for their cloth covered airbrush hose. Worth it.

well, you spray some paint in a can and take an artist brush that kids would use for watercolor drawings and paint the areas if you need to build up the paint to make it flush do it again
perfection no but it will look better
don't clean the brush just throw it away but keep the handle they come in handy
everyone should have them for touch up

okay sounds good
now if you were to take it apart and go to the trouble to strip it down i think i would take it in and have it powder coated, more money yes but better finish
good luck with your new pistol
Good point, if I go through the whole trouble of disassembling it down to pieces and stripping down the original paint, I'll most likely get it powder coated then. Thank you!
