Hello AAFTA clubs and shooters!
We had a GREAT National Championship at the Aguadilla Field Target club in Puerto Rico! It was a great success and we thank our host for all their hard work, dedication and hospitality! Awesome job AFTAAC!
Here is a report from our annual meeting and the items that were discussed.
-We presented a to-date treasurers report.
This report came before our annual auction and end of year expenses, so we will email a final report for the year to the clubs once that data is complete. As we look to 2023 and 2024, the BOG is looking at new ways we can support host clubs, promote the sport and help support WORLDS in 2024.
_______________
-The AAFTA BOG presented a change regarding the pistol field target rules.
A member petitioned the BOG regarding pistol scope magnification capabilities. We reviewed and made the following rule change starting in 2023:
Original rule 11: Scopes maximum magnification of 12x. Variable scopes capable of greater than 12x are not allowed. Clicking is allowed.
New rule 11 starting in 2023: Scope maximum magnification of 12x. Variable scopes of greater than 12X must be turned to 12X or the nearest lower factory marking on the scope. Clicking is allowed.
_______________
-Vote for 2023 BOG members
Ballots were distributed to club representatives in good standing and a final vote was taken. Garrett Kwakkestein and Paul Cray gained the most votes and will serve 3 year terms respectively on the BOG starting in 2023. In addition, Chris Corey has asked to step down from the board, so we have asked Brad Troyer to fill his seat for the remainder of his term- 2 years. Brad received the next highest number of votes. We thank Garrett, Paul and Brad for their willingness to serve, their wisdom and expertise!
_______________

Two items were up for vote regarding by-law amendments. Each required a 2/3 majority vote to pass.
ITEM 1 regarding a wording change to clarify the number of members on the BOG passed nearly unanimously.
