Today’s match boiled down to just one word: “HOT”- and windy- OK two words, HOT and windy. How hot, first 97-degree day of the year. How windy? Tables blew over, and hats flew off heads. A rifle was blown off a bench. It was windy!
The shooters proved up to the match, as there was plenty of ice water and everyone pitched in with the setup and teardown, making the match much more bearable. So let’s talk scores. We have both off hand and benched competitions, as well as full length and Short Air Rifle compressed distances, The shorter distance range has targets that are commensurately smaller; while they are closer, they need more precise sight alignment.
Scores (out of 40 possible hits):
PCP Offhand:
Robert S. 18 and 20 (two relays) 12 ft/lbs.
Dennis 13
Martin 23 and 30
PCP Varmint (Bench)
Dennis 23
Steve K 35 and 35 (two relays)
Pat 19
SAR Offhand (12/ft lbs max)
Ed 26 (Springer, with Diopter sight)
Pat 26 - Springer
Dave and our new shooter, Jack, didn’t post their scores with me- get me the numbers and I’ll add them in !
