Umarex Retirement is getting expensive

I really like that Beretta. Thought many times of getting one. Still am. You're not helping. I have a few of the Legends pistols. 1911, German Luger and the Colt SAA. I aged this 1911 Tangfolio to use in my fathers WWII memorabilia collection. I keep the original Colt 1911 in the safe. Looks cool in the collection and reminds me to shoot it. I also aged the German Luger and put it in the collection also. View attachment 543786View attachment 543787
Very nice. How did you do the aging process. I would like to do that to the cowboy rifle. Also, you wouldn't be disappointed. The nickel with wood grips is a little expensive, but I think it was worth it. The German made quality really shows. It's actually a little heavier than the real Beretta 92.
Speaking of the 1911. Years back, I had a Colt Gold Cup National Match, series 70 .45. Very nice pistol. Wished I would have never sold it.

My friend has the Legends Lever action. Nice and very accurate rifle. The wood furniture in not real wood though. Faux wood. I don’t think it wood look good in the aging process. I fitted genuine Walnut checkered grip panels to the 1911 and aged them with the pistol. It really helps to use real wood. This is the German Luger I also aged. First thing was to remove the plastic grip panels and fit genuine wood ones.

Can anything be done to age the metal?

Started retirement this last October. With the extra time, decided to give my PCP's a break and started getting back into CO2 just for the fun of it. I forgot just how fun it
was to get out and plink. These are two of the latest toys. The Umarex Legends Cowboy Rifle is a blast to shoot. The grouping on the target is at 15 yds. Straight out of the box, no adjustments. Pretty accurate for a smooth bore.
The Umarex Beretta 92fs definitely lives up to the hype. All German made. Rifled barrel, nickel finish with wood grips. It was a little pricey, but worth it. Really smooth action and nice to shoot.

I am not certain but think the lever action rifle has the same black painted finish as the German Luger. I just used 400 grit sand paper and a green synthetic wool to rub down the edges. I did use black spray paint (sprayed in the paint cap) and a artist brush to cover the white script. (Warning label, caliber, etc) Then use cold bluing to color the bare metal.

one of my friends ask if i missed work , HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA . Been retired 12 years now .
Another friend ask what my plan was for today , i just gave a blank stare , what i imagine is "the deer in the headlight look "
I’m hoping to retire at 50 which is 10 years from now. One thing I can say for sure, is I won’t run out of things to do. I could keep my mind and body busy for another 50 years with ease. The scary part for me is when my body can’t keep up with my mind.

older and slower has its advantages , specially after retirement . " you don't have to finish today ."

Sounds good. Thanks for the tip.

O man that’s a head first tumble down memory lane, a very nice bit of kit.

Germans able to package their stuff really damn good, in the old days we knew someone that dived a place where they dumped stuff, and we got some nice stuff now and ten, you be amazed how good condition a bunch of Lugers will be after 40 years under water,,,, salt water even.
