Rex / Rex P Knowledge and Info

I don’t see much discussion of anyone working with these airguns so maybe I am talking to myself here. Not a lot on YouTube other than simple reviews.

These are kind of like a Talon P and a condor but with a smoother lever action and half-cut barrel at the breech end for a loading like a Texan. NOT BAD!! I understand the single shot unregulated airgun is not for everyone but if it is this seems like a great addition to the airforce guns.

The one thing I miss is the power wheel. The Rex can be cocked to two different spring compressions for low or high power but that’s it, so I wonder if anyone has tried some of the basic tuning with this platform that we see people having used with the Air Force platform.

Here is one thing I tried: some o rings behind the valve cap. Two thicknesses, shooting at low power they lowered peak speed by 40 and 60 fps with .357 roundball. I’m packing up to move so I did not have time to test it thoroughly but I get a few more shots per fill at low power with the o ring.

i guess a stiffer spring, porting, or hammer spring spacers would be needed to push power in the other direction.

I don’t know what is a good performance for this airgun in terms of pressure loss per shot. It seems like the pistol loses 50 bar per high powered shot… the rifle maybe 20 due to larger tank. my chronograph is packed up for a move, but when I get settled in to my new location I plan to do some careful testing of these and look at shot strings and curves and see how they perform.

Turns out it is possible to get support here in the US and Veradium Air can service these and get parts. Also airgunproshop. I’m hoping to get a couple of parts from them in the near future and really glad both of these companies exist to support users of these airguns.

Rambled for a while there but if anyone has any suggestions or tips for using these guns I’d love to hear them. As I learn more about what options exist for modifying these guns, good ammo, etc. I will post it here.

Looks good! Took a minute to realize those are arrows. What’s the story with the shroud - is that from another evanix gun? Surprised it fits on the Rex receiver.

As for relocation - pretty much everything i own is in a shipping container at this point. A total reset at age 53 and a move to the country (paradise for me) after many years in the suburbs.

Right now I am trying to make the final cut for what comes with me in the car and what gets shipped. I have couple of airguns that I won’t trust to the container and are coming along with me…

Yea. I bought a SAS Atmos bow and picked up that quick detach quiver with it. Happened to fit on the mlok with some leftover hardware I had laying around.. As for the shroud you can pick up an AR handguard type adapter on the Africa Air Ordnance web site. The handguard I picked was a Noveske NSR handguard. Not the cheapest when all is said and done. But worth it to me. I roughly Dremeled out and reused the plastic front cap of the orginal fluted tube type shroud/barrel cap? (that comes on the tip of the barrel) to give it some extra rigidity in the front. It just so happens to squeeze inside the front of the NSR handguard with a couple taps of a mallet. Someone once told me these guns shine with a 3rd set screw mod? I assume in the threaded front plug that the barrel set screws are. But my third grub screw is in the front rail I attached underneatg going into the plastic cap I was talking about.
