Other Reximex RPA Pistol Review (This PCP Pistol Shoots like a $1500 Gun!) Video Review

I've read this thread front to back. You get what you pay for. This Reminex pistol falls into the same category as the Artemis /Snowpeak pistols. Bank on luck and be prepared to fix the issues that come with an inexpensive gun. If you want a pistol that is as close to perfect out of the box pay your money and get a GK1. Nothing, absolutely nothing made by anybody is better in any way. It has the accuracy of an Olympic Match pistol and the power of a rifle.

I understand your concern, but Your choice of sights comes down to your intended purpose. I am a very experienced pistol shooter and there are reasons to have fixed pistol sights. Think short range, concealment and comfortable carry. Then there is rapid target acquisition pesting where a reflex sight is ideal. Then there is pistol competitions where adjustable iron sights are mandated and reigns supreme. Then there are those pistol owners that cannot shoot a pistol accurately. They mount scopes and shoulder stocks. Your call.
except it's not usually your "call" or choice if you follow what I was saying.. look at most rifles.. they don't even come with open sights and unless you want to spend the time in a machine shop there's no option for open sights.. period..to be clear I was shocked to find open fiber optic factory sights from AOA, old new stock, completely discontinued for my Condor.. unfortunately I am having a issue with it, bought them right away and now I have the scope back on.. I prefer open sights but they are just not visible enough,I'm guessing too fine .. or my eyes and not wearing my glasses 🤓.. plus the tank hits my cheek too tight to see unless I use risers under the sights.. then too I have to use extra tall rings and risers to use the scope.. I'm trying to decide if I want to build the gun or what..I prefer to have sights and well even the scope close to the bore.. more accurate for me especially going very close and out to 50 yards.. like it would be totally impossible to shoot anything under 10 yards because it is dead on at 30+50 yards but it's like 2" low at 10-20? ft..
pistol is another thing.. I only want open sights and compact.. point of a pistol is that I can comfortably carry in a holster,I live in the woods and I could shoot any gun I want, noise and restrictions wise.. my daughter visited and shot her 300 win mag and I hated the noise and concussion.. but it's all good as she had fun..
to be honest I think I've given up on air pistol.. I just can't find anything that will be enjoyable.. to be honest I recently bought a brick of 22 LR CB shorts, so that makes my Ruger Bearcat and Wrangler almost perfect, airgun power level and almost comfortable noise..id actually prefer less.. it's 750 fps.

so I have a velox, it's bulky and chunky and a bit heavy, wish I could turn down the power a little bit too..
had a notos that I shortened down to air tube length but it was still too long as a pistol..
borrowed a friend's reximex and I loved it but I can't stand the grip size and angle and I can't find anyone to make a 3D print one.. thought about getting a reximex rpa and reshape it but it's more than I want to do, might be more interested in trying that if I can buy a spare grip in case it turns out bad.
borrowed the s&w mp CO2 pistol and I liked it for plinking but I only shot one magazine and gave up.. too hard to get the tiny BB in holding back the follower..
I'd like a GK1 or GK1 shorty but it's honestly out of my budget..
any suggestions would be great..

PM me if you want to..

I'm desperately trying to save up the money but it's a big chunk and I don't know what it's going to do price range.. currently 🤔
another concern is that I keep hearing about jamming and seating pellets.. Kelly said he would change the magazine to pre 2018 12 groove but I'd likely have to seat the pellets with a pen to prevent jams..
I have a selection of pellets and I suppose if I had to I could order the sleeve for just a GK1 but honestly I also like to be able to buy ammo locally too.. that's crossman premier hollow point 14 grain pellets.. some say they work fine and other can't keep them from jamming..I definitely don't want to spend the money on the GK1 and then just have trouble and wish I hadn't.. although Kelly seems like the best way to go..
I'm concerned about the GK1 because it seems like they are not uniform.. even Kelly said that the barrel and magazine vary gun to gun..I don't understand that..as I didn't think they were made one at a time and no measuring.. seems like it would be difficult to make every magazine and barrel different.. because I'd imagine that they are CNC machined and set up and ran..I know this sounds bad but seems like it would be very terrible quality control to not have any alike??

I have the Reximex and am very satisfied but your post really steers me to the Huben

Your understanding of the GK1's magazine is not correct. The GK1 and the K1 rifle is a revolver and in every revolver is the requirement to secure the ammunition in the magazine to prevent unintended motion. In PBs this is accomplished via the flange on the brass case. In the case of the GK1/K1, this is accomplished with the pellet skirt being larger than the magazine's bore. The pellet head is a slip fit in the bore, but the pellet skirt is larger by about .010 inches and the bore entrance of the magazine is lightly chamfered to accommodate that diametral size difference. Please get out your calipers and measure that yourself. The jamming issue spoken about is for slugs and they have no skirt. The only wat they can be retained is bore friction, which makes slug size super critical. The gun is NOT designed to use slugs. Those folks that experience jams with pellets are typically forcing the pellet into the magazine's bore beyond that chamfer and that is a user fault not the gun's.

ok..I haven't gotten a GK1 yet.. so I can't measure it, I have shot a partial magazine from Felix GK1 only..
he and others have told me that pellets are hard to find that fit.. speaking of the 22 caliber..he said that the crossman pellets are so loose that they slide freely back and forth and so when you shoot at some point one will shift rear and jams. I think Felix finally found the pellet his gun will use.. AA if I remember correctly..
I don't want to get a pellet picky guns for this kind of money and then have trouble with jams. however Kelly did assure me he would pick through them and find one that would be ok with crossman since they are so common
also Kelly at Krazy cool airguns said that every magazine and barrel are different sizes.. he also told me that the current magazine is 6 groove or flute inside that retains the pellets so they don't shift.. I'm not clear if it is the skirt to the ridges or the head or both .
he said that he would swap the magazine for a pre 2018 so it was a 12 groove that matches the rifling and that more grooves secure the pellets better..
also I get the feeling that the Huben is designed as a slug gun because Huben sells the Huben peanut slugs and what better way to get more sales than to make it off common size so you can sell your slugs.. just my take on it..
but I really don't know anything other than I have talked to Felix, Kelly, shot half a magazine and loved it.. and read I think every thread posted on AGN..
I'd really love to feel more confident that I will actually enjoy it though and not regret it.

also I understand revolver as I shoot mostly cowboy guns.. favorite is Ruger Bearcat..
unfortunately there's no PCP single six and lever action 🤔☹️🤔 but I'd really like it if there was..I mostly shoot in the Bearcat 22 CB shorts so it's around PCP airgun noise level.. would prefer less.. they are 750 fps.. wish I would have bought several bricks of the aguila colibri ammo 500 fps..

or just better yet have some cowboy air guns

Mark,
Measure the pellets both head and skirt diameters and you will see that the skirt is larger than the head in any caliber regardless of brand. Kelly may be correct about magazine bore size, but that has not been my experience. I use precision accurately ground pins in a go/no go manner to measure hole sizes. Of course there will be manufacturing tolerances, there always is, but they will be quite small typically .001" or less and that will have no bearing on the pellet retention when the diametral difference of the pellet is .010". Those grooves in the magazine's bores are to reduce binding friction in the magazine when the ammunition is slightly larger than the bore. Most shooters on this forum do not have access to precision pin gauges. I do. I have a machine shop. That allows me to actually measure these parts and the ammunition. Without actually measuring what you read in this forum is mostly BS.
