Rifle weights

I tend to improvise a lot, meaning I was lazy and could not wait. I borrowed a plate from my press

Drilled a hole through it. And threaded it. Then I bolted a Arca adapter to it.

And put on the bottom of my rig.

I think however if it is used to stabilize a bench gun the best place for weight would be around the barrel itself as that is where the force of the shot initiates from. So I'm thinking about filling the shroud of my barrel with lead shot or making a solid brass or lead weight to slide over the barrel. Of course I will have to block any holes that may lead to the inside of the barrel if it is going to be lead shot.

Lol, I knew it was heavy but never weigh it til now.

Maybe just cast your rifle into a concrete shooting bench. 😂😂

This was last year's winner. He had to have a car jack hold up his rig!

Wheel weights work for me , in an experimental manner. Am doing standing, so IMO, I like to keep the rifle balanced, using the front hand position as the pivot point. Kind of a 2 to 1 ratio muzzle to butt. The Crown went from approx 6.5 pds, to 12 pounds= 5.5 kg max for ISSF rules, which is what I am used to. Possible thoughts on a dreamline bottle and cnc fabbing my own position stock. 20230601_191248.jpg20230601_191309.jpg20230601_191340.jpg20230608_143045.jpg20230622_192828.jpg20230622_192818.jpg
