I prefer to stay at home, put up a 100 yard target, and then pretend Im going!

I wonder how hard it is to get in? It seems there are way more willing participants than openings. Not sure what the best fix would be, but I would love to see everyone at least have a chance to qualify. Possibly regional qualification for national events?

The problem is time and space. You’re trying to get in a BUNCH of people on a limited number of benches. Just for bench for example you might have 30 people shooting that relay. To get through just 4 relays usually takes most if not the whole day just for bench and just for pro class, add a few hours more for sportsman class depending on how many there are. Now try adding 3 more whole different events, your pretty much there sun up to sun down.
I don’t know your background or if you ever been to one of these big events. But I have been to EBR twice and there is a TON of work that goes into it. There will always be someone left out unfortunately. Several hours after registration opened there were still spots available for a few things when I looked last.

I hope I haven't been misunderstood. I am not saying that more people need to compete at these events, only that there could be some method to make sure these events are made up of the most qualified shooters. It seems that the pro level is largely made up of factory sponsored shooters. There is no doubt that many of these individuals are the best out there but some method of pre qualification could help to level the field. One solution may be regional matches leading up to national matches.
