FX Rotating Crown MKll barrel

this thread explains it a little.

Hi,
Just my 2 cents. The pellet vs slug port is very important in rifles like the M3/4's, Maverick,s, and Panthera/Dynamic's. Not so much on the Crowns. The reason is on the Crown's you have a transfer port wheel which allows you to choose one of three transfer port sizes. This adjustment is before the barrel in the air flow path. If you use a small opening here using the pellet port on the barrel is somewhat redundant and could cause addition disturbance to the already decreased air flow.
I just keep the barrel on the slug side to reduce the flow disturbance as the air bends 90 degrees in the barrel. Even when shooting .177 pellets I use the slug port on the barrel and I have had really good success in Field Target doing this. I use the Medium Transfer Port setting as I find it gives good airflow and seems to improve my accuracy over the High flow setting.

Cheers,
Greg

Interesting Greg…

I’ve never tried the slug port in my Dreamlines/Crowns

I thought the look of the slug port might be more damaging to a pellet skirt as it travels across it during loading.

Since you have had good results, I might give it a try.
