Tuning RTI Barrel removal tool

That was my thought as well. Looking at the diagram screw 8 looks like set screws. I would guess that there must be some space to allow shroud removal and when retightening you could shift the shroud. Then again, I could be totally wrong. IMO for the 15-20 bucks extra the tool makes it really easy and this thing shoots so damm well I dont want to undo any screw thats not vital.

My guess is M12x1. A 1/2-20 nut will start, but only go on a little over a turn.

I have a sequence for tightening all the grub screws that hold the shroud. I tighten the ones on the scope rail first to push the shroud down. Then I equally snug the sides a little at a time and evenly. They don’t need to be lug nut tight. Just snug everything up. Trust me, it’s not a big deal.

POI shifts is not part of a RTI’s vocabulary. You will always have to sight in any gun after a barrel removal.

That does sound pretty easy. Any vibratite or similar used? Guess im too hesitant to start taking it apart.

OP: I will try to measure the threads on mine tomorrow. Gotta dig up the thread pitch gauge.

No juice needed on the threads. If you’re wondering what the threads are on the end of a RTI barrel they are M12X1.0.
