RTI Performance ( the longer one - not the compact ) .22 RPB Barrel - "Survey"

I’ve been using the FX version of the MRD’s, even with possibly suspect quality, they continue to work best for me. My RPB barrel is my best barrel and works at low speeds and high. I’m still kinda halfheartedly trying slugs, but don’t really feel much need.

My thoughts are similar, just a couple of days ago I put all the .22 slugs away, sick of chasing my tail.
Pellet shooting with the RPB barrel and P2.
I'm not interested in larger distance just accuracy.
Time to enjoy the prophet 2, slug experiments now on hold.

Initially I thought my RPB preferred .218, that was with Zan slugs.
After testing a few types, .217 is preferred, overall.

I'm going back to pellets only, well in .22 cal.
Something I intend to try is same pellets and distances out of the LR and RPB set up. Prophet 1 and 2, swapping barrels etc.

I've both barrels in .22 but only one 610mm shroud, so until I can find another long shroud it's just a future project.

RTI arms shop Spain, has shrouds in stock, 60 USD plus another 20 for shipping. .
No chance of me paying that for EU shipping.

If any of the EU guys see shrouds in stock, I would appreciate a PM or link.

I've got my .22 RPB ( in a PP1 ) shooting 26g .217 Javelin's in the low to mid 950's and it's slinging them really well. Well as in accurate out to and slightly beyond 100, efficient - ie; good shot count. ( it's upstairs so I can't actually see or look at it . . . ) From memory - reg is 155'ish - maybe 160 ( I think ). I'm pretty happy with it and don't plan on messing with it until I run out of my current supply of these Javelin slugs. ( and then I may still not mess with it - just buy more of the same . . . )

No complaints today .
A bit of a polish helps a lot.

Good luck with the move, plus I appreciate your kind gesture.

Im keen to try the LR barrel and the RPB side by side, same ammo, same speed, distance etc.
It's just something I have to test .

Over the next few days I will either contact RTI or place a order with Spain.

Hot and windy today.
RPB barrel after the light polish performed ok with JSB redesigned .22. speed about 955 FPS. Not the best batch of redesigned I've had but not the worst.
Because it was a polished barrel, untried I kept the distance to 50m or 55 yards.
Wind was definitely having a adverse effect.

Decided to try some slugs, JSB knockout .217. no alterations to rifle settings, honestly I was amazed, first slug a 8 on the card, decided to try my best, next 5 targets 3 X 9s and 2 X ten's, in the wind.
The day just got better, 10mm spinners at 70m, 77 yards easy.
It was a f@@king astounding session, especially as I had almost given up on slugs.

Yes, I need to push the distance beyond todays targets. I intend to, with optimism.

JSB knockout.217. well worth a test in the RPB barrel.
Definitely knocked me out.

.217's .... yeah. I've found that the 26g patriots ( javelins - gen 2's ) fly extremely well out of mine at 957'ish. (( rpb barrel in a 1st gen prophet )).
