RTI RTI Prophet 1 - I like it!

Hey anyone with the
Yeah. Definitely a P1 hoarder.

The top one is a “Compact” that started out as a .22 with 400mm CZ. It’s now set up as .177 with a 500mm LW shooting 10gr JSB KO MK3 at 1025fps. A barrel swap to a 500mm CZ .22 (no tune change) pushes a 22gr JTS at 895.

The bottom one started out as a “Standard”. It now has a 300cc bottle an Huma reg. Shown it has a .25 600mm LW that pushes a 34gr JSB KO MK2 at 945fps. A barrel swap to a .30 600mm LW? (again no tune change) pushes a 44.5gr FX hybrid to 895fps.

No issues with magazines “in my face” because of where I’ve positioned the scopes.

Both have received the TwoCan treatment..of double working shrouds..so they make 65dB and 82dB, respectively. Yes..quiet.

Covers all my bases. 😄

Those look great! I can’t wait to get my compact in the mail. Love the carbon fiber shrouds. Did you make them? I hear of guys adding baffles to the og shroud. I’ll have to start getting measurements when mine comes. I’m sure someone can print me something. Oh and what brand is the pic extension? Yours look to be set up perfect.

Happy shooting,
Rob

Love my P1!!

The pic. rail is from Saber Tactical. It’s the Pic/Arca combo. The ST pic rail only works with bottle ODs less than 55mm. Which means they’ll work fine with the Compact with its 220cc bottle but not with the Standard 500cc one.

@igolfat8
The shroud is actual carbon fiber. It’s 34mm OD with an ID of 32mm. You can buy it on Amazon. 35mm might also work. I started another thread a while back that shows the build process. Since then I found an RTI extension from DonnyFL that I modified to replace the original delrin part. It’s much cleaner and .75” shorter.

Fun project.

I like the Carbon Fiber shrouds. Are those covers or the actual shrouds?

I have the Saber Tactical rail on my P1 Performance and it clears the 500cc bottle.

It is close, but it does clear.

The 500cc tank I got from RTI is 61mm. So I had less than a playing card of clearance on mine.

My 500cc is now a backpack buddy bottle. 😄
When I bought my rail, I was told that I might have to shim it. I'm not really even sure if that is possible, but it didn't matter in my case since it had enough clearance to work as is.

Not a lot of discussions on the Prophet 1 any more, but I picked up a used one a while back, so I thought I would share.

I received it when I was looking for something inexpensive. I remember when these things came out, and I thought about how much I didn’t like the looks. After looking around, I decided to give it a try anyway.

Few things…
  • Performance model, so external reg adjustment. Also has 22LR barrel
  • It has the “standard” valve, and I don’t mind, because it is so similar to many other rifles. But reg does creep 20 bar or so between uses. I either just fire 3 shots or so before getting going, or leave the bottle pressure close to the reg pressure when I’m done for storage and then no creep.
  • The cocking mech is no where near as smooth as some higher end rifles, but I’m getting used to it. Not a fan of the left cocking lever either, but again getting used to it.
  • Hate the magazine being right at your eye! Hate it! Rarely hate anything, but hate this!
  • Got a 3D printer cheek riser from MRSHOSTED, and it is perfect to get that mag further from my face and allow me to have a better setup. Cheek risers are something I must have on any rifle I have.
  • I like the factory mag. I have a bigger aftermarket one as well, but would prefer a smaller one. I can’t use the larger one with glasses on, because they bump into it.
  • I usually don’t like the pic rail way back next to the trigger guard, but the rifle isn’t too tall, so it wasn’t bad. I still used a carbon tube to move the bipod out and to use thr FX Chrony.
  • Barrel does like 25RD’s… shallow version around 970. The deeps aren’t as good consistently, but are still pretty good most of the time. The AEA version was pretty good too. I tried some of the mid weight pellets, and it liked the JTS 21.53 pellets A LOT on the same setting around 1000. Didn’t do a lot of testing, at many different speeds with all those, but would buy some more of these to test.
Anyway, just thought I would share some random thoughts after a few times out with it, shooting 20-100 yards. Time to settle on a pellet and then get my dope right.

Can you please tell me where you got your but pad I hate shooting mine with it being flat

eBay? Can’t think of the person that makes them. J3B or something like that.
JE3D.

I had that one on mine for a while but had issues with it. On a hot day at my shooting table in direct sunlight, the material started getting soft and deformed. Maybe later versions he used better filiment, but the one I got is now sitting in my spares box. and I ended up going with a K&L butt hook and bag rider.
A lot more expensive, but rock solid product.
