Tuning RTI Prophet - Careful If You Remove Grip

Replaced the stock grip with a Hogue. Took a fair amount of filing and Dremel work to get it to fit exactly like the stock grip. After I finished installing the new grip I found the safety and a small detent ball laying in my bench vise. The safety works with a detent ball held against the safety outer surfaces with an equally tiny spring. Both those things are held in place by the front edge of the grip pushing against the spring. Took off the grip and didn't know about this, the spring and detent ball and they ejected and went flying. I only noticed this after I had the new grip on and found the safety button in the vise tray. I could only find the detent ball after careful searching, a few days later, on the floor using a flashlight.

AOA does or did not stock that part. I then mailed RTI and got an immediate response advising me to tell AOA that it would be in their next shipment. Last night I went to get the mail and there was an envelope from AOA. I hadn't ordered anything lately and inside there was a small package with the spring and detent ball. No further mail or follow up was needed to get those parts. That's superb CS from RTI and AOA. Thanks to both.

I got to check mine as I replaced my grip the day I got my gun, Already had my grip ordered, But as far as a safety I have never used the safety on the prophet or any of my guns , My safety is my trigger , finger, magazine and the barrel,,, All my guns are loaded and that's my safety,,,, Unloaded guns kill a lot of people. I am not taking the chance all mine are loaded......

Hmmm...I might have to look into an RTI if their customer service is like that. That's half of deciding on a new airgun.

The service is positively there. I got a USED Priest 2 and emailed them to see if I could get (purchase) parts to rebuild the original adjustable reg that came with it. Mr Rob emailed me back saying he was shipping me a brand new current generation adjustable for replacement. 3 weeks and it was at AOA. Just got delivered this week.Going to put it all together today.

I apologize for the hijack. However I wanted to add to the superb customer service from RTI. I was having an issue with my regulator. I talked back and forth with Mr. Rob from RTI for awhile. I received an email last week from AoA that RTI sent me a new regulator and they needed my shipping info. I was blown away. Hard to look anywhere else for an airgun…. These guys are 1st class.

Yeah! It won some competitions by its accuracy. Haven't done a thing to mine except shoot it. Have a farmer who is having a lot of grain going to some pigeons but getting within, my normal range, 50yds they take off. They only go a short distance and sit in a tree waiting for me to leave. Instead of setting the zero at 50 yds I did some practice shooting and zeroed it at 100. From the milk parlor to the birds was lazed as 100yds. With stock everything and Hades I got lots of feathers and took 3 to the ground. I am so far away and out of site they just sit unless I hit close. 100 yds shot using a bipod is long range for me. The RTI hits where you aim it.
