Think this will make a nice bag rider for the RTI

I looked at the same item, but decided to take a more conservative option and went with black.
It came with three plastic adapters. I used the smallest one and dug through my tool box and found a box of 1/4 countersunk screws that fit the butt plate perfectly. Then rummaged through my photography goodies and used a 3/8 to 1/4 tripod adapter bushing to make it all fit.
Looked good and is functional.
Not being one to leave well enough alone, I thought, what if I don't have my bags with me, or what if it is too short? So off the rider came and into the drill press it went. Drilled and tapped to 3/8-17 and inserted two more tripod thread bushings.
Next a 1/4 carriage bolt and a rubber stand off.
Now that's better.
Now for some test shots at 50 yards. Here is the best group with my first try with the new rear bag rider/mono.
Now on to the next project.
And for those that are thinking, Why didn't you just drill and tap to 1/4? Using the thread adapters, I was able to install the lower adapter and then clock the upper just slightly off from the lower to create a slight interference and eliminate any wobble from a loose fit. Worked out great!
