RTI PROPHET II GUN ORDER

Been seeing reports of the Prophet pop up here and there , So I ordered about a week ago sounded like RTI was going to get the gun right out, I mailed them and ask if I could get a date, RTI reply was two to four months ,, Seems the gun has been released and other places except USA is getting them.
I wonder what the hold up is,

RTI Arms Shop has the Standard Performance in stock. I think the Compacts are 2-3 months out.

Probably used up their inventory on preorders first and yours fell in after they sold them.

I used the announcement of the Prophet II to watch for a better price on the original Prophet Performance standard. That paid of and had mine in a matter or days. Lovin' it too!

I don't think it likely that I will exceed the capabilities of the old version for some time.
Besides that, I always prefer to let the early adopters to work the bugs out of the latest and greatest before I jump on board.

I am waiting to see some user reports on how the new barrels perform. I am hoping the .25 performs well. If so, I might order one of them to expand the capabilities of my Performance .22.

It seems the most significant upgrades are a balanced valve (should mean easier cocking) and a slug friendly barrel.

I have designed balanced valves for many of my airguns but haven’t felt the need with my prophet. That said, it sounds like a cool upgrade. As most, I always want the latest/greatest. I believe I will hold off here though, RTI does seem to offer upgrade kits in time. Hopefully this will be no different. As I understand, the valve body will need to be changed to accommodate the newer valve, so it’ll probably be a bit pricey.

The slug barrel doesn’t interest me because I like using Shilen rimfire blanks for slug barrels.

Anxious for you to get the II in your hands and tell us all about it.

I really do not care about a slug barrel, 99% of my shots are going to be 50 yards and under , Pellets are cheaper and super accurate , I am after the shot count and the ease of the tune,
If I want to shoot the super heavy 22 pellets . Or if I want to head in the other direction and shoot the super light 22 PELLETS,

My understanding is that the new valve isn’t compatible with the Prophet 1, so they won’t be offering a conversion kit. Can anyone confirm?

Can't get the valve by itself but they will offer up a complete rear receiver so you get the extra plenum and new valve.

Thanks for the info. That’s great news. Should be a more cost effective option than buying a new gun. Then again, it’s nice to have an excuse to add to the collection .
