I'm still waiting to fit the latest valve to my P2.
When it works, accuracy is excellent.
Unfortunately, I'm now waiting for the valve delivery.

We are human beings, so i can understand. But we have to remember that bias work both way, positive and negative.Large element of truth in that comment.
I definitely like my P1 prophet and the P1 compacts.. had some regulator issues but that's been sorted.. they have been very reliable. RTI's simplicity, fast barrel swaps, easily tuned and your shooting without any upgrades to make it shoot straight like some other manufacturers rifles.. all though the P1 isn't as refined as some but it shoots straight each and every time I pick it up.. heck I've been considering buying a priest 2.... I see that you can still order one from the RTI Shop.I do get that. The P1 is almost boringly reliable, but it was my first higher end PCP and I wanted something proven. So far, no regrets.
As for tinkering. I prefer to tinker by choice even if I might break something in the process, not to tinker with something broken and maybe fix it in the process.
No bias on my behalf, just waiting for parts is frustrating. I actually like my P2.We are human beings, so i can understand. But we have to remember that bias work both way, positive and negative.
Funny enough I've been thinking the same, priest 2.I definitely like my P1 prophet and the P1 compacts.. had some regulator issues but that's been sorted.. they have been very reliable. I think I would like the way the priest cocks over the prophet.. I see they offer a conversion kit to change the priest 2 breech to a prophet... Wish the offered a kit to make the prophet to a priest 2 breech..I would most definitely buy the kitFunny enough I've been thinking the same, priest 2.
The RTI shop now ship the priest 2 with the RPB barrel. Confirmed this week. .22/.25
Define value for money.
I don't know. If you have your hammer spring set heavy, cocking the priest might be a bit of a bear. Maybe on the P2 since you don't need so much hammer spring tension.I think I would like the way the priest cocks over the prophet.. Probably plenty lying about, quite a few guys swapped out to the prophet system. Wanted add?I think I would like the way the priest cocks over the prophet.. I built a couple of rifles years ago (22 & 25) similar to the ones Quackenbush use to build back in the day... I always liked the way it cocked as far as for a hunting rig goes.. true as it was a bit stiff to cock if a lot of hammer spring was used.. but later as I learned to tune a bit better a balance between more hammer weight and less spring made cocking effort much better..I don't know. If you have your hammer spring set heavy, cocking the priest might be a bit of a bear. Maybe on the P2 since you don't need so much hammer spring tension.
I had not thought about that, but yes, a heavier hammer would be good to try.I built a couple of rifles years ago (22 & 25) similar to the ones Quackenbush use to build back in the day... I keep one of my prophet compacts mostly a 177 slug shooter and it cocks easily already.. changing to a priest breech wouldn't be bad on that one.. it may when I swap on the 25 barrel that requires more reg pressure (not by much) and more hammer spring.. but I bet if I replace the aluminum hammer spring spacer with a steel spacer the cocking effort would be much less.. or that's my thinking anyway..
As these later priest 2 with a RPB barrel, will definitely need less speed, power.I don't know. If you have your hammer spring set heavy, cocking the priest might be a bit of a bear. Maybe on the P2 since you don't need so much hammer spring tension.
That's got me thinking.I had not thought about that, but yes, a heavier hammer would be good to try.
That's right you did say the priest would have the new RPB on it. So yeah it wouldn't need a lot of hammer spring anyway..As these later priest 2 with a RPB barrel, will definitely need less speed, power.
That's my observation so far. I have the prophet 1 and 2 plus 6 barrels, so I'm a tinkering sort.
My compact P1, is now a .177 slug machine, it's staying that way.
P2, with winter, valve issues etc it hasn't been tested beyond 65m. It's accurate though .
If I had enough use out of the P2 rather than time spent on my workbench, the priest 2 would have been ordered. Life and this hobby.
SupremaRatio, bonus, Prophet 2 makes me practice my English.
Don't get me wrong mate, i wasn't talking about your situation, only about how much difficult is to change opinion once something bad (or good) happensNo bias on my behalf, just waiting for parts is frustrating. I actually like my P2.
We do easily get set in our ways.Don't get me wrong mate, i wasn't talking about your situation, only about how much difficult is to change opinion once something bad (or good) happens
Yea I think I slip through the loop with the valve problem, I got one of the 1st compacts in the US , Mine is 22 caliber and had the over size OD CZ barrel, So far so good, But really my new Huben came in at the same time and I have not really given either one a good work out as I have been jumping back and forth,At 1st I was a little pissed I did not get a RPB barrel, But the accuracy of the CZ barrels made me say DAM glad I got the CZ barrels.Once burned, enthusiasm falls down
I totally agree .Don't get me wrong mate, i wasn't talking about your situation, only about how much difficult is to change opinion once something bad (or good) happens
Melt some pellets inside your hammer. I did that ( about 5g or 80gr) and, damn, 1200 fps with .177 slugs, but i couldn't find a good barrel with the right twist rate. Of course 1200fps are not useful but it was funnyI had not thought about that, but yes, a heavier hammer would be good to try.
