Melt some pellets inside your hammer. I did that ( about 5g or 80gr) and, damn, 1200 fps with .177 slugs, but i couldn't find a good barrel with the right twist rate. Of course 1200fps are not useful but it was funny

I like the melted pellets idea.

So have you stopped using .177 slugs? Or just using them at a lower speed?

.177 is my favourite calibre, both my prophet's have a .177 barrel. I've played with a few slugs, ok results but nothing that gives me the confidence to attempt longer range. Over 160m for example.

Hopefully one day we will get a dedicated .177 slug barrel.

Pp, went to order a priest 2 today, price risen by over 100 Euro in 2 days! Quickly followed by a email from RTI arms shop, the prophet 3 is available to pre order for not much more.

Pre order, no chance. RTI arms shop definitely disappointed me today. That's life.

When I saw what RTI was charging for the last remaining LR barrels, my opinion shifted a bit…I do believe Mr. Rob is a stand-up guy, but the corporate overlords have their tentacles everywhere I suppose.

I agree though, I would not pre order. In fact, I wont even consider a P3 until it has been out in the wild being shot for 6 months to a year. Same as I did with the P2.

Totally agree! I’m really glad I didn’t experience the early P2’s. Hurrying into things usually bites me in the ass. That said, my brother hurried me into a Skout, by gifting me one…now that’s hurrying into something at a high level!

I've asked about the price increase, why etc? No response so far. Nothing had changed since my initial enquiry, same specs etc.

I have the prophet 2 and 1, I'm a convert. Yes my prophet 2 valve etc has been a problem, new model etc. I can live with that. It's development.

Because I'm a older guy, I fancied a older RTI.
Thwarted, prices are going up faster than my RTI ambition and pending pension.

I think I would like the way the priest cocks over the prophet.. I see they offer a conversion kit to change the priest 2 breech to a prophet... Wish the offered a kit to make the prophet to a priest 2 breech..I would most definitely buy the kit

I emailed RTI asking for a kit to convert my P1 to the cocking of a priest 2... They replied back saying it wasn't a problem.. and would cost 300 euro.. I'm weighing my options... Buy a kit or a brand knew priest 2...

1 hour later she is telling me about some new RTI model. It must be on Facebook. A nightmare she called it.
I pretended I knew nothing about this new model, phycology at work, now she's a expert, found something I know nothing about.

I'm still listening to her.

If RTI comes through with the 177 RPB barrel I think the twist rate will be more towards slugs than pellets , That's if I under stand all the hoopla about the RPB barrels, I shot some 10gr 177 pellets in the mid 1200 range , About 1280 FPS if I remember , didn't go to target just checked the speed, I went from 30 caliber to 177 on PP I Very vary loud.

Probably more slug oriented than the RPB barrel. I don't dislike my RPB barrel, I just find it average with pellets and slugs.

@bfloyd1095 usually I don't either, but last time if you didn't pre-order then it was a LONG wait. I have my Brocock Ranger for now, and with the permissions I now have in Maine, I wouldn't mind the extra power for the longer distance stuff. Also, I really really want a high powered 177 again.
