I have a new RTI Prophet in .22. I accidently fired it with the bolt not fully forward. It popped next to my ear and was loud. Now, although it still shoots accurately, it seems to be more noisy next to my head. I was wondering if I may have blown out the breach seal. The schematic says a #7 o-ring goes there. Has anyone had experience with this? I was wondering if pulling the barrel would be needed to repair.

Since it "it seems to be more noisy next to my head." then maybe fire it with a lit cigarette next to it or something similar to confirm air loss.

It happens…the seal is on the probe, shouldn’t be hard to tell if it’s there. 2.5mm id x 1.5mm o-ring.

Yes, just move the probe/pusher so that you can actually...see the o-ring ! Take a look for yourself. rotate it with your fingers to see the whole thing. Use a low powered flashlight to help make it easier to see.

Thanks for the good info guys. I was thinking the seal would be up inside the barrel. I will check that out. I haven't seen it but I will look much closer.
