I've got a vortec kit in my m48/52 and it doesn't seem to like slugs but I'm right at about a mile high and that hurts power a bunch. Mine was made March of 87 so I think it was 1 of the first out. That m52 stock sure helped me when shooting it. I'm right around 6 foot depending on how much my back hurts that day and the extra 1 inch length of pull really helps along with the cheek raiser. I installed 1 of Hector's leather cheek risers and it helped some on the 48 stock.
