Tuning RWS 48 hinge pin repair

Hello everyone,

My friend just gave me his RWS 48 .22

The hinge pin broke on the cocking lever rod at the bolt. The action has been open for months. Other than the rod and pin that I need to replace, do I need any other parts considering it’s been half cocked for so long? I’ve never shot one of these but I’m guessing the spring has been compressed this whole time? Thank you!

Put it back together and check the velocity. If only part way cocked you might be fine, but if fully cocked, the spring is probably compressed. Not a big deal, just buy a rebuild kit from vortec or other suppllier and do a tune while you have it apart.
