RWS RWS 48 vs Diana 48?

I have had a Diana 48 for several years now I have not had much opportunity to work with. Primarily because of moving and the fact it is not configured the way I want IRT sights. I acquired an Anchuetz rear the fits well and al though I can use it I want something with preferably the ability to accept an M14 front or at worst some globe front sight.

What I didn't know is with the RWS 48 rifles there are variations as to how the front sight mounts, I saw the variations are marked on the receivers. On my Diana there is not variation stamp, T06 or something similar.

So, the front sight mount on my rifle has the two cuts that appears to be the same as I found on the T01 RWS. I saw this thread but I don't see a solution... https://www.pyramydair.com/blog/2010/02/mounting-a-globe-front-sight-on-an-rws-485254/

Anyone come up with a fix?

I have been thinking of one of the clamp type bands as a solution https://www.ant-supplies.uk/rail-base-mounts/diopter-sight-muzzle-adapter-bases.html

Remove the front sight, there should be a dovetail mount under the front sight, on which you can install a standard Diana front sight with replaceable inserts. If the rifle is a late T05 or T06, then Diana produced special bases for the front sight, which are currently impossible to buy. Diana T05 and T06 rifles do not have a dovetail at the end of the barrel.

Good luck on finding the Diana globe with or with interchangeable inserts ..

You may ask or find out if the daisy or true glow ones can fit the dovetail ..

Diana/rws part is going to be hard to find maybe best ask the forum if someone has one to give ..

Daisy, Tru glow, or aftermarket your b st bet of it fits anything

Example

Cool, is this sight the same height as the original blade?
Yes, but not every diopter sight will do. Only original diopter sights Diana with a wheel in the middle or other old sights Gamo or Walther with a wheel mount in the middle will do. You can order the OEM Diana globe front sight from Umarex USA without any problems.

The rifle is not a dovetail sight. It's mounted in a polymer shroud. A dovetail globe sight won't mount on it.

They make 3 different height "korntunnels" for that model. 9mm, 10mm, 11mm height. They come with a fiber optic post and a hood. They mount with a screw into the shroud. Not a dovetail on the barrel.

Go to the Diana website. You will see the part on the schematic. There are part numbers for each height. Blue Line industries are the only distributor and they don't order parts for older rifles. They referred me to Hector Medina and he was able to get them for me from Germany.

I ordered the short and the medium height. It depends on your rear sight height and your desired cheek weld. With the factory rear sight the low works best for me. Your diopter may require a different height.

The T06 designation is the trigger. It's the "newer" model rifle. They have the polymer "korntunnel" and not the hooded dovetail sight with inserts. I found no other options for a front sight. There may be other sights for it. I looked and didn't find.

The Diana is a fantastic rifle . I am just getting into Diopter sight usage. Normally they are on target rifles. And the target rifle has 6 ft lb and zero recoil. My Diana 48 had well over 20 ft lb when new. And had a very strong recoil. I changed to a 18 ft lb spring and it made the shot cycle very smooth . But it still kicks. I am thinking 12 ft lb. Would be even better. I am curious if the diopter sight and recoil will be a problem.

If you pull the plastic front sight off the barrel it is dovetail tail what size or what else will fit it ???

( Dovetailed)

I would still check yours to be 100% sure cause one run there was a different cut ? . I don't know but all I seen was the dovetail cut barrels

Now lol and behold

This Canada shop has add to cart on the insert globe and the fixed globe

You may be correct. Mine may have a dovetail under that plastic shroud. I didn't pull it off so I really don't know for sure. It may have been an incorrect assumption on my part.

It's best to look and be sure. Could be one of them subject to change without notice things ..lol

Don't bother, your barrel does not have a dovetail.I'll repeat myself once again for those who are in the tank. The dovetail on the barrel is only found on old rifles with T01, produced in West Germany.
