I have I think a 1984 and a 1980 and the one that says Diana is a longer barrel? Why? I’m new to forums
Yes they are the 80s models. Love them. Have those 2 and a model25 and a model 25D coming from eBay that needs a breech seal. I just can’t figure out why the barrels are different lengths. Not been cut either. Unless they had a G smith cut nes dovetails. Don’t see that happening. I have 3 old Ben’s and Some Gamo Magnums and a few others but I am partial to my oldies and can care less about everything else. Are they the "old" model 45 (with bolt through the stock above the trigger guard, and big slliding plastic safety); or the "new" one (which does not have these features)?
The old gun was a unique design introduced in the 1970's, and quite popular in its day. When it was discontinued Diana came up with the new one, which is the completely different action of the model 34, in a stock closely resembling the old gun.
We would love to see pics of them!
I’m trying to get more models slowly but surely. When Gamos and other Magnum models got popular years back I had a Tim the Tool Man Taylor moment and wanted latestThere was a Carbine version of the RWS(Diana) Model 45.
Both through bolt styleI'm still confused whether we're talkin' the original "through-bolt" 45, or the later 34-based one.
Snippet from a 1984 dealer price list. Thanks! I'm not as familiar with the 45 as some other Diana models but - as Wadcutter said - the simple answer might be that a "carbine" version was offered at some point.
I handled an 82 sight at Findlay one year and you can see the difference, it is one lovely little piece of kit.Notice in the above advert, that the upgrade from the diopter 75 to the Elite 82 is a 70$ surcharge.
That upgrade is like 210$ in 2024 dollars, and may explain why they are so scarce?
