Sacramento Valley Field Target Match - Sunday June 23rd Yolo Sportsman's Club, Davis, CA

I will be in Ohio visiting family but Scott, Jack and Robb have promised to make this Sunday's match one fun day. The weather looks like it is going to be good so come on out and enjoy the company of our fine members, have a nice lunch and get in some practice after lunch if you desire.

Location & directions:

Turn left on the lane just in front of the announcement sign, stay to the left and and proceed about 75 yards to the "specialty/cowboy range” where we have our own gated parking lot.

Equipment requirements:
.177 or .22 caliber air rifle shooting at 20 foot lbs of energy or less. Almost all spring powered or piston air rifles qualify. Most .177 PCP rifles and most .22 PCP air rifles shooting 750 fps of less qualify.

Optional but recommended, a set of shooting sticks or adjustable bi-pod and a bucket or stool to sit on while shooting. Eye protection is required for all participants and observers.

The Game:
We will be shooting a field target match using knock down targets at ranges from 10 to 55 yards with bulls eyes from 0.5 to 2.0 inches.

Regstn and sight in ......8:45 am
Match start:.................9:30am (approx)

Match fees will be $20 per person
Cold Beverages and light lunch will be provided

If anyone is wanting to try there first FT match, we have a loaner HFT rig set up and folks more than willing to introduce you & help with the game we call field target.

Are spectators allowed to shoot targets at the range if they pay whatever dues are in place and have a .25 caliber?

The range is the Yolo Sportsman.

You can shoot whatever you want as long as it is legal in California.

We are talking about FT where 20fpe is the maximum so you do not damage the targets.

Yolo has archery, skeet, trap, 7,10, 25, 50 & 100 yard ranges.

No...I repeat NO rapid fire.

You will not be warned.

You will be gone.

The FT match is hel at the practical pistol/cowboy action range.

This is why we offer a loaner gun .... let us know you wish to shoot the match ahead of time ( we only have the one loaner ) pay the $20 match fee and you can play with a FT set up rifle & be provided pellets too.
