Save our ranges

If you love to shoot airguns and live in the Baltimore DC region it's worth checking out the Izaak Walton League Club in Damascus Maryland. The chapter has an outdoor 50 yard range with covered benches that is exclusively for the use of airguns; this range is very lightly used. Longer distance shooting is allowed on the 75 and 100 yard ranges that are shared with firearm shooters. The chapter also has a dedicated 12 lane Field Target range that hosts matches organized by DIFTA.

Sadly with the decline in interest in the shooting sports, Izaak Walton League chapters across the US are losing members. We need new blood to keep our ranges open.

Post here or PM me if you have questions about the Chapter.

Just for a little pick me up, I'm seeing increased interest in shooting. Specifically pcp airguns now that slugs can extend range in many guns and that people are learning that they firearms restrictions don't matter so you can make it short folding suppressed to your hearts desires. My bullseye competition 22lr hasn't seen the light of day since I put together a 22 slug cannon.

Still, save the ranges and public lands. Be good stewards and impress that idea on others.

I fondly remember the IZAAK WALTON LEAGUE club in Damascus when I was a teenager from SILVER SPRING MD. They got me loving fried oysters when they had their field days. Me and my shooting buddies loved going out there to shoot Trap and our .22's, and they even had a real dear there to watch.
Now I live in Maine where deer are everywhere.:D
