Say Hello to My Little Friend- Mac1 USFT and 21m

USFT2So, I am the newest member of the USFT family!!!

I wanted to try out FT with friends here in So cal. and recently got some nice rifles but I always wanted a USFT.

I just graduated with my Masters so my family chipped in so that I can get a new "BB gun." (They still cant fathom anyone spending hundreds of dollars on a pellet gun)

. So anyways, at the same time, a friend of my friend knew of a great deal on a used USFT with a sweet scope and priced great!USFT I sayed "YES!!!" on the spot! I would never in a 100 years think I could own one without selling a lot of rifles to get it. In any event, it is a Gen 1, number #83. It was already Doped. This rifle was really dirty which means it was used quite a bit in FT. I cleaned it up, but tomorrow it gets the Q-tip treatment.

Does anyone know its history?

Update: Our 2021 IRS bill just came in today, it looks like I am going to sell a lot of rifles anyways... :'(

I will keep everyone posted on my experiances with the rifle.

~Philip

Heck yeah man! Congrats on a sweet rifle. You made a wise purchase and good on ya for going with tried and true. Even more so that you got the unregulated version!

You may have already run across this, but if not, something in there might prove interesting to you. https://www.airgunnation.com/topic/mac1-usft-analysis-overview/

Sorry that I can't help you with any specific history on #83

Hey Phil, sweet gun. I too had a couple along the way, and gave one to my brother and sold one to my best friend, however I wanted back into MAC1s, and USFT and Hunter versions, so I ordered a USFT with canted grip from Tim. Im waiting patiently due to barrels taking a while from LW. I also ordered a Hunter version, with the straight grip. And, when I was in Louisiana at their Cajun shoot in April, my friend Will Thibault, just happened to want to get rid of his old Gen 1 #41. So since that one had the way looooong tube, and barrel (26.75 in), I took the gun apart and sent the tube and barrel to Tim, so he could cut about 6 inches off of each of them. So, welcome to the cult. Its fun shooting the very accurate, unregulated 1600-1200 psi gun. People are always amazed how they shoot so well using 300-400 psi per match. Gotta love LD and Tim for their awesome machine......BC

" I wanted to try out FT with friends " and buying the exact rig you did you got cheated! The rifle will be fine, I've tried a few and naturally knowing all FT history you just had to end up with the green cap scope model (score, I've had the chance to try a few) now where you really got cheated " It was already Doped " ! I mention I've tried a few, all were personal rifles of Champion shooters. 1st you missed out on HOURS of fun doping and hey "new rig" being your ONLY excuse for a miss and you cant use that one often, you got cheated.

Congragulations
