Anitra is 44, how old do you think Anthony is?
As I mentioned above, 44. I appreciate everyones kind remarks. I was trying to help. They are scamming people using her listings. It seems obvious to me but my efforts seem to appear as a joke to many. One could contact her realtors office and make them aware of the issue. Great community we have here. Good luck OP.

Unfortunately we live in a time when people walk into retail stores, fill a cart and walk out. Employees get fired for trying to intervene. You can bet no law enforcement entity is going to give two flying F’s about a crime like this. Great world we live in. Going to have to get your own justice some how.

Sorry this has happened.. no trust in the world now a days.. this is why I never buy used online... I would and have drove a few hours to buy a Air rifle... Your only out a bit of time and a bit of fuel... You get a nice road trip...find a nice place to eat...meet some awesome like minded people that share the hobby.. basically... If I can't meet you in person no deal... (Although I did purchase a barrel from dairyboy a few months back it was my one and only online deal)

We have fly by night members and we have solid members here. And here’s why new guys bitching about classified privileges get no sympathy from me. If you put in the time on this forum and want to strike a deal with someone, I would have no problem sending a PM to certain guys I know to see if they dealt with an individual. I know this still might not save my butt from a known member who suddenly loses his mind but I’m just putting it out there that if we want to call ourselves a community, then we need to act like one. I would and have never felt bothered when someone PM’s me about anything. There are some sharp dudes on this forum that have a nose for this stuff. I know who they are because I participate for more than just being able to shop here.

Did this guy ever go by ohioairgunner or something similar? Remember that user name posting a wildcat mk2 every five minutes eventually receiving negative feedback when it did sell. Was his only feedback and then he tried selling something else. I thought good luck. Maybe one of his many names
He had a 17-0 feedback not long ago., actualy it was July of this year..before he went off the deep end again. He was under" Simpleguy "

Should be more stringent, guys come along and spam 10 posts in a day/week and can be off to scamming again

I agree with @heavy-impact that it should be closer to 100 posts, at least 20. Possibly even require members to upload their drivers license where the staff here could blur out all info except the address/name to insure all things line up, make these guys jump through hoops. Tbh the current known scammer list is, way too lengthy.

Maybe there should be a new poll. Not the usual polls we see here that involve what should I buy or want. How about what are you willing to produce in order to sell on AGN? I’ve sold things here so as I type, I’m thinking how much personal info am I willing to put out there in order to sell. What I do have an answer for is 100 posts would make me less uneasy or feel offended. We have guys weekly wining about how this isn’t convenient enough for them with the ridiculously low 10 posts. Imagine 100! I think the powers that be like the traffic this forum sees and don’t want to jeopardize that with a 100 count. People today might be ok with kinda having to earn a privilege. They are not about really having to earn anything internet related. Everyone is spoiled. And it bites us in the ass all the time.

The worst part is you can literally spam your way to ten in a few minutes with posts like "nice" or "cool" and then wait your little time and start scamming. That's about 1.2% better than nothing as a deterrent.

He is a professional scammer and has multiple accounts under different names and user names. Since this has happened to me I had his simpleguy account banned which was over 350 posts and positive feedback of 17. We uncovered an account that seemed to be one of his accounts again with positive feedback but to many things added up so had that one banned too. I just want something out there for new and old user to not deal with a guy in Columbus Ohio somehow to to protect people. I don't want to this to happen to anymore good people.

@heavy-impact “Nice” or “cool” doesn’t always cut it anymore. Some folks are getting more creative, some seem to feel entitled as if the rules shouldn’t apply to them. I’ve seen some arbitrarily granted privileges. Why? I don’t know, but have an idea. Despite these things, we have to protect and advocate for ourselves first. Even then, some folks still decide to go bad. It was a bit shocking to read about longstanding members of this community scheme other longstanding members and a friend. As members of this community we have a role to play in all of this. Do we want to watch and then try to sympathize with a victim of fraud with whom we may be loosely acquainted with or friends with? Or would we like to be proactive and try to help curtail the BS before it’s excreted?

I recall asking an established member about another member my first month on the forums. He was forthcoming and honest. His honesty became evident in later events. I’ve made several inquiries and I’ve had people contact me about several members. To me, this is a large part of being active in a community; protect it and help strength it to promote growth. I also realize that some folks have limited or no foresight, so for them hindsight is 20/20.

Stubbers,
I agree with you on the license thing or something like that. The only problem, scammers are a whole lot smarter than we are. They know their way around that stuff. To then rely on the ADMINISTRATORS to go through the trouble of loading their information and blocking out certain info will turn this into a pay site.
Some have suggested the only way is face to face transactions. Airguns are complicated enough where it would not be difficult for someone to hide a problem or the buyer not know airguns well enough to know what to look for. One member noted that they only buy from retail establishments. That’s probably the safest way but we’ve read about some bad experiences with legitimate airgun vendors too. Then there’s the extremely low number of airgun establishments. I live 20 minutes from Pyramyd, but they have a pick up counter. They hand you a sealed box and you sign for it then out the door you go. In their defense, they aren’t a retail showroom. Everything that is manufactured can have something wrong with it and the retailer not know it.
If Pyramyd were to add a showroom they may well have to raise prices to cover the associated expenses.
Trust is a beautiful thing. I recently sold an item and my post was pretty explicit regarding a blemish. The interested buyer and I spoke on the phone, I took additional pictures and forwarded them and we made an exchange. From that point on we trusted each other and then we waited for the designated shipping company to SAFELY deliver the item.
Dealing with scum is always going to be a problem, just ask Adam and Eve.
