Scope and mount for Taipan Vet 2 Standard

Need suggestions on scope and mounts/rings for Taipan Vet 2 standard (700mm barrel).

I am okay with a SFP or FFP scope. Max magnification 20x or 24x.

Mounts: two piece will do fine but not sure if I should get low profile or medium. I want to keep the scope as close to the barrel as possible. For those who have a Vet 2, how is the cheek piece in relation to the scope if you use low or medium mounts?

My current set-up on FX Wildcat MK3 is:

Scope:

Athlon Optics Argos HMR 4-20x50mm Mildot

Mounts:

FX No Limit Scope Rings

This setup has worked fine for me but the scope does sit high compared to the barrel. So if you can help me figure out a scope and mounts combination (low profile mounts if they work) that I can work in my budget, I would appreciate it.

Scope Budget: $300. Mounts: $40-$60.

Thanks!

I just bought what you have from Tony @ Talontunes except the 550mm barrel for my son and mounted a PARD NV008s on it for him with the PARD mount. He'll be using it for short-range day and night shooting.

Here are some ones that I have on my Taipan Vet Tactical that work quite well and meet your budget!|

Here's a scope that will work in those mounts and on the Taipan and meet your budget:

I have more expensive scopes on my Taipans, so I won't even mention them. The adjustable mounts work great - not as good as the Eaglevision, but no where near the cost.

I put a 4-20 SFIR from Discoveropt, it came with the rings of my choosing, I went with highs, I love the reticle and it was well within your budget.

Replaced scopes on Wildcat MK3 Sniper and Taipan Veteran Long with Krale (Netherlands) Optic Department provided Vector Optics Veyron 6-24x44 SFP, 6-shade red center dot IR, MPR-V10 reticle. Paid $181, $211 to-my-door, price now $176. Super-subcompact, light, crystal clear optics and smooth functioning (with included mounts) makes this ideal for bullpups. Completely improved feel and handling after ditching long, heavy scopes (WestHunter, Sniper.) Keep on 8-power for quick pesting response, crank up to 24 for target work. WM

I've got 6 Vector Veyron 6-24x44s (30mm tubes) here's pic on AGT Uragan .25. AGT required cantilever mounts, Wildcat, Vet and your Vet 2 are clamp on with provided mounts. Flip covers and sunshade filter included. WM

Ending up settling for a Vector Optics Veyron 6-24x44-Reticle-MPR-V5, FFP.

$281 shipped from Krale and this includes a set of rings as well.

Thanks for all your help
I recently purchased a Vector , also. I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised. Mine is a 3-18x50 that I paid 172.00 on black friday.
I am still shocked by how good it is. Also the rings that come with the package are very nice.

Excellent deal at $172! I could have bought it for $180ish but choosing the MPR-V5 reticle and FFP option made the price jump. However, the fact rings are included made this a deal that came well under my budget! Excited to try out the Vector

Another vote for the 6-24 Vector Veyron. You can pick SFP or FFP too.

They also have great adjustable rings. As good as the Eagle Vision for 1/3 the cost.

Have SFP and FFP, IR, non-IR and several different reticle configurations in my 6 VV 6-24x44 collection. Preference for SFP, 6-shade red center dot IR and MPR-V10 reticle. Find FFP reticle thins out too much for older eyes under 8 power. Also, scopes with full illuminated reticles wash out view, 6-shade center red dot IR can be dialed back to lightly highlight aiming point, perfect IMO. WM
