OK, so I got a used rifle with a UTG 4-16x56 Accushot Swat IE scope. Overall happy with it. Got to looking at the scope and wondered about this illuminated reticle. Never used one in the past, black works pretty good for me. But thought might as well try it out. I opened it up and there is no battery. No big deal. So I consult the owners manual and here is what it says:
"Verify the battery included with your scope. It is either CR2032 OR CR1620. Remove the old battery (if there is one) and install a new one of the same type..."
ARE THEY KIDDING ME? The manufacturer doesn't even know which battery the scope comes with???? Since the scope is used, I am assuming the previous owner removed the battery at some point in its life. Now which one do I try? Looking at battery specs, they seem just a little different. One is a little smaller in diameter and 1.2 mm thinner. As well as a lot less mAh. Would it hurt to just go with the bigger battery? What if it doesn't fit? I guess then I will know.
Most likely I should just listen to JoeWayne. "Who needs 60 colors anyway". Most likely I will just stick with the non-illuminated anyway. But it just bugs me to have something that doesn't work, even if I don't use it.
Sorry for the half rant.
