Scope Bubble Levels

Wondering what folks thoughts are on the different "speeds" on some levels.

Some older Lone Star bubbles seem really responsive to angle changes..almost too quick.

Some new offerings from VectorOptics are the opposite..very slooow.

A different oil viscosity in the level maybe?

The two above are relatively inexpensive, but seem well made..aluminum construction.

What are people using for their levels?

i have seen built in bubble levels on expensive mounts that are not correct.

imho, you need to be pretty far off level to miss because of cant at typical distances for an air rifle, so don't over think this.

For general shooting you are correct, but with many shooting FT copmetition this can become critical. Years back when I was a serious FT competitor the boys atvthe Grand Rapids Michigan club used there hilly ground to get competitors off level. Sitting on the side of a hill whether facing up hill or down, shooting atva 3/4" kz at 35 yards plus, doesnt take much cant for a miss, I have learned my lesson there many times. Back in the day I was making bubble levels from cheap scope rings. They clamped around the rear on the scope tube. You could actually see the scope while in position with both eyes open. Once I started using that level, I saw my scores begin to improve when sitting on unlevel ground. Not a big deal for large kill zones but as courses became more difficult with tiny kz's. A level can ve a big help !!!

oh i agree. the more you are dialing the more that is going to matter. i was just suggesting that everyone doesn't necessarily need one more thing to focus on.

personally i use a sendit electronic level, but that is on a powder burner i shoot off a tripod a lot.

As soon as I can afford these these are the ones I’m going with. Has a self leveling system that’s easy to readjust without you needing to unbolt it and start over-

Genius! Literally just had to relevel my level on my Taipan. It has a Wheeler level that folds in and out and while in the out position the gun took a tumble into my backseat. Didn't think nothing of it but later went to shoot and found my level had twisted and was way off. Took me 15 min lastnight to get just right again. Might just get one for that gun.
