Scope cap cover pops off

Crazy experience tonight... Gamo Swarm Magnum 10x Gen3i with a UTG 3-9x32 BugBuster scope. I shot about 30 pellets and the back scope cap cover popped off... landed right in my lap! I slipped it back on and another 25 pellets and it popped off again! I'm guessing I'm going to need to secure this booger to the scope somehow... wondering if anyone else has dealt with this? I'm hoping maybe a couple small spots of double-sided tape discreetly placed might hold it sufficiently such that should I ever need to remove it, it shouldn't be too much trouble. Any thoughts?

I know this is by far the most powerful pellet rifle I've ever owned... but I've never had this happen to me with any scope on any rifle.

Have same problem, cause for me is the need to adjust eyepiece far out for a sharp reticle, leaves scope cap little room to grip.

i have that same problem sometimes,
i use electrical tape built up around the part of the occular focus that turns,
instead of the body of the scope.

I use o-rings to fill the slot. Either 3/32 or 1/8 inch (I forgot the diameter, but simple enough to measure). I try to get them fairly tight to keep the eyepiece from rotating. Kinda like killing two birds with one pellet :ROFLMAO:, makes for more holding strength for the cover and keeps the eyepiece from moving. I've used both round and square in 1/8" diameter on several scope that work really well. Keep meaning to get some 3/32" square, they seem to be a better fit for most of my scopes.
