So I recently received my order for both of these shrouded bbl PCP rifles in 22 and 25cal, and after the usual tinkering with triggers, moderators, ect. I mounted two quality long range target scopes I had been saving on both. I’ve been doing this for 50yrs so no biggie right?
First the Gauntlet; A 6X24X44 scope on high rings, and with both the up turret and left turret adjusted nearly all the way I am only able to get to 1” low @50yds and on centerline for windage.
Next the Avenger 25cal: A 8X32X44X30mm tube German lensed scope on medium rings, and with the up turret adjusted all the way up and the left turret adjusted all the way left I can barely obtain the centerline for windage leaving no further adjustment possible. However with the elevation turret adjusted all the way up it still shoots 5”low @50yds. I like everything about this rifle but it’s useless like this. This is the absolute worst offset I have ever seen.
I am in the process of making shims but I can’t believe this will adequately solve my problem as it is just too severe.
Are others finding similar problems with these rifles and has any one experimented with replacing the flimsy mounting rails on the Avenger? I sure would welcome some advice.
Many thanks
Tom
