Doesn't matter what everyone else uses, it's your head, your neck, your gun that makes the decision on the scope height.
Otherwise, a ring is a ring ! The dealers are full of various ones to look at.

From the standing, they are about 5'6" off the ground. Bench depends on the bench itself, so average about 32-33" off the ground.
Prone is 14" high

Scope height depends on the gun and/or the shooter. My 1st gen Crown gives me no choice, it needs high rings for the scope to clear the magazine.

For a best "result" the scope height must be in a natural position to your posture.
You shoot standing, hand held or from a bench, laying on the ground, these are different postures.
Best way to check is:
- close your eye,
- with closed eyes bring the gun to your comfortable cheek-weld = anchor point,
- open your eyes now...
Is the scope there or it is not there in front of your eyes?
You shall never move your head around to adjust to the scope, but you adjust the scope to your head = eyesight. And you will have to find those elevation adapters, I think those coming normally in 1/4" increments, but you can find the height 1/8" adapters as well.
I am shooting my Impact of the bench, I had to check in Strelok, the scope height is 82.8 mm ( 3.26").
I am swapping two scopes for my Leshiy2, when I am shooting longer ranges from a tripod that (Nikko) scope height is 75.4 mm (2.97").
If I wanna shoot the L2 shorter distance (pesting) hand held, swapping the scope to LPVO and the scope height is 76.6 mm (3.01").

Yup a stocks "DROP" somewhat dictate at what @ level the top of receiver falls in front of your face. From there ring height is chosen that for most is a fairly vertical head position without scrunching down to get a good view or having to stretch either.
My RAW HFT rifle has a scope height of just 1.9", yet my THOMAS HFT rifle sits at 2.6"
Same caliber & speed shot on both ... yet due to scope height the "Hold Over" profiles are vastly different !!
Both have 34mm tube Schmidt Bender optics fitted.

The question is scope height.... It does not state sufficiently the height from WHAT? I quoted the hight from the floor. What height were your thinking?

It's best to have the scope in the spot you are used to shooting in as stated close your eyes put the gun to your shoulder like you would then open your eyes scope should be in the correct place to see threw it. Granted it depends on the objective clearance and certain stocks

I am very simple and amuse easily. How do you define scope height? No name calling, kiddie. Vague questions can get outlandish answers.

Basically, scope height affects holdover/under/MPBR because the sight/scope is higher than the barrel.
Simple explanation for a simple question. Refer to your ballistics software for more. No offense meant to ANYONE!
Within reason, a higher/lower scope height means nothing if you know what you are doing. (chuckle)
Chairgun/Strelock are great tools and work equally well if you take the time to learn how to use them.

Well, yeah! Scope height over bore does affect the ballistic tables as the line of sight and the bore centerline are not parallel and the larger distance from line of sight and center of bore, the larger the angle needed to bring them into co-witness. Season to taste, use what fits you and your gun.

You may be right, but I have asked questions (even recently) that some might think were too dumb to ask and everyone should know.
I am sure that more than one person will say better what I tried to say.
