• Remote life streaming with Tactacam 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 (they generate a Wifi network to connect to a cellphone app)
• Remote recording control of up to 5 cameras (certain models only) (the cameras generate a Wifi network to connect to a cellphone app)
• Remote life streaming with Tactacam 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 generate a Wifi network to connect to a cellphone for life streaming, and for controlling up to 5 Tactacam scopecams remotely.
Zoom
• Zoom: Allows filming without a scope as just a regular camera, with up to 8x magnification (digital zoom).
The 5.0 camera model has 3x optical zoom, and a total of 8x zoom using a digital zoom.
Camera to Scope Adapter = “FTS” = “Film Through the Scope”
• The FTS (Film Through Scope adapter) fits the Tactacam scopecam 4.0, 5.0, and Solo, but not the Wide.
• The FTS can be mounted in any position on the eye piece, so the camera can be on the left, the right, half below, above, or any other angle. Just rotate the scopecam inside the FTS to get the reticle level in the camera image.
• The FTS add c. 1.75"=4.4cm to the scope length

• The FTS will fit eye pieces (ocular lenses) with a large variety of outside diameter since it comes with a set of fittings. A few lengths of black electrical tape around the eye piece can make the fit even better.
• The FTS will fit eye pieces with a maximum outside diameter of 48mm
• Connects to the eye piece – therefore so this is not really usable for the very few scopes that use the eye piece to change the magnification (a few of the SWFA models, for example, and the Nightforce ATACR).
• Eye relief requirement:
• Tactacam (2021-01): “3.5 to 4.5 inches of eye relief is required to achieve optimal video with FTS. Shorter eye relief like crossbow scopes may cause the video to look shadowed around the edges.”

• For scopes with short eye relief the scope image gets cut off, apparently.
“Tried [...] Vortex, Nightforce, Kahles, Trijicon, and Minox. The Tactacam worked best with Vortex optics, although some optics with shorter eye-relief, Kahles in particular, don’t give a full edge-to-edge image. It was still usable, just didn’t give the scope’s full field of view.”

• Note that when zooming in or out many scopes change their eye relief slightly. This than can result in changes in the quality, e.g., shadows around the edges.
MicroSD Card for 5.0 Camera
● Max. size = 128GB
● Min. recommended size = 64GB (but 32GB is possible, it just won’t hold a limited amount of footage)

Slo-Mo
● Don’t select slo-mo in the camera app, but rather film with 120fps or 240fps, and then use any video player and simply play it back slower, or use video editing software.
Installation
● "First, when you mount the camera into the mount, the gun needs to be in a rest.
You have to slide the camera front to back in the holder to get the best focus, then you have to rotate the camera in the mount so the crosshairs will be level. After those two steps, tighten the camera down.
Its a good idea to take a small strip of blue painters tape and go across the camera (left to right) and the mount and cut the tape between the camera and mount. It’s almost impossible to unlock the battery compartment and remove the end cap without twisting the camera, but by removing the camera from the mount, you lose your focus and crosshair level. With the tape, just slide it back until the tape lines up, and you’re focused and level again.”
