Beeman Scope stop

The ways I did it on my springers, also R-9, some rings have a screw that you turn to fit in the swallow hole on the springers receiver,it is a scope stop screw, the other way,I used a one-piece mount that has 4screws to tighten mount to receiver,it also is grooved for picanacy rings,oh,another way, a one-piece mount with rings attached. Sorry, I misspelled some words.

Does anyone have any experience with a currently available scope stop?

I have a Hawke Match rings on a R9, torqued to spec and is still shifting. I am considering a scope stop to address the problem.
Make sure the dovetails are cleaned of any oils very well. Then tighten the screws more. I have similar rings on my R9 and HW95 that never slip. Changed most of my guns over to BKL because they grip very well and mount your scope squarely over the bore and not lopsided like side clamps do. No scope cant.

You're probably not tightening enough. Usually the torque specs are just a recommended starting point

The Hawke Match have the stop, it is still slipping.

I'll disassemble tonight and see how it is slipping. The UTG 1-piece may be another path to try.
how can it slip with the stop pin extended into the receiver tube ? OR is the hole elongated ? Did you just mount the ring then screw the pin down ? like a pressure point and not into the hole provided for it ? . I ask that because i had someone at the range that did just that .

I recall fighting with rings slipping for a while when I first started with springers. Clean with alcohol, even apply a little shoe goo under the rings, drill a stop hole, get a scope stop, etc, etc, etc.

KWK nailed it. BKL rings. Never looked back. Been using them for years and wont slip even on the most brutal springers.

Use the Sportsmatch T04C. They use a larger rolled spring steel pin with adjustable depth. They hold secure without leaving a mark if your smart enough to read instructions. Genuine Sportsmatch rings are made in the UK specifically for 11mm airgun dovetails. Their machining, materials and hardware is light years better than the Hawke knock offs of them or any other cheap Chinese rings like the UTG. And they aren't expensive. AoA has them. The T02C are medium height and work well on the Hw30s. The 4 bolt clamp T04Cs work well on Hw95s and stronger. I have 13 Weihrauchs and every scope is held on with either the T04C or T02C rings. There's no need for anything else unless you need droop compensation. AoAs website will rape you in shipping call in your order and ask them to ship it reasonably

Wont argue over Sportsmatch. I've heard great things about them, though havent used them so couldnt recommend them.

So it looks like they are in the same camp as the BKL's far as holding on to springers. Just will depend on which you happen to like the looks of.
Completely different than the BKLs, unless BKL has changed their designs

If they have a pin, and the pin is in the receivers scope stop hole, they aren't slipping. My Sportsmatch rings had a pin, but the pin wasn't extended down into the stop hole. I had to drive it into position with a hammer and punch.
On a set of rings with no pin I had to drill and tap the base and run a grub screw down into the stop hole. Next the scope started slipping in the rings, which I tightened past recommended torque.
Let us know what you find. 👍

I see you like those Sightrons too. One day I'll try a SIII..🤔 Well I did have "one" a long time ago,
it was a fixed 20X SIII mill hash reticle. Problem was there was issues with these scopes, mine wouldn't clearly focus at 40 yards. They were phased out shortly after. Anyway, I sent it back in and requested to swap it for a SII bigsky 6-24X42 silhouette with a dot reticle, it was great scope, but later I wanted a reticle with hold over marks, so I sold it like an idiot..lol. I wish they still made those with a hold over reticle.

The fixed power SIII was offered in 10X or 20X and there may still be some out there somewhere, I think the 10X's were OK for the most part. My 20X could've possibly been fixed, donno, I just decided to swap it out.

I still have a SII bigsky 4-16X42 milldot that I'm planning on putting on a 98 if that ever happens.

As far as the scope rings go, I use stop pins on all my mounts, rings or rails. The sportsmatch rings are nice, I've had a few sets. But currently use burris signature zee rings with the plastic inserts.
They hold great and do not mark up the scope tube.

Just tighten them down further before you throw more money at it. I don't need any stop or pins on mine. Whatcha got to lose?
I also don't have hack marks on my receivers from those pins when the mounts slip

Neither do I. The Sportsmatch pins come loose in the package and the user sets the depth. When they press them in, the pins are deep enough if they simply follow the instructions on installing them. I use them on 25,26 and 30mm comp tubes without issues.

A clean dry dovetail slide with the pinned ring slid back until it touches the rear of the hole goes a long way. Then tighten the dovetail clamps to specs. 53 inlbs IIRC and I go 16 on the ring caps. No more is needed because the rings are well machined round and the scopes never slip. More can crush som scope tubes.

I've used these rings on my R1 and RX1 when they were oversprung and overcharged without slippage. They blew up scopes and bounce open the lock up and the rings stayed put. No other dovetail ring comes close to these. And the Sportsmatch are relatively cheap for what you get. They're a no brainer.
