Scope wont parallax below 13yds.

Hey all.
Just got my rig out for HFT, newbie, and got out my rat resetting target and laser range finder.
Started at a close distance and worked backwards. From 13yds and out its fine but it wont parallax below that. If the impact point has no paint left, i cant see it. Im sure its club dependent but how detrimental is this? I dont really have the funds for another scope. Thoughts?

What scope is it?

You are going to want to replace that as soon as you can. Usually at least a few targets down by 10 yards. You might be able to back the power off a little and see if that will give you a yard or two. Try lowering to 8X or so and see what it does.Sometimes that works on some scopes. But you have to remember to move it back to 16x for the others.
Thx
Dan

I have the same scope on my pistol and it focuses down to 7 yards at 16x. You either got a bad scope or a bad range finder. If you can't return it for whatever reason and decide to adjust the objective lens, go to Amazon and search for a Neewer DSLR Camera Lens Spanner Wrench.
But bear in mind, even if you are super careful, you will mark up the scope doing this and it will void any warranty. Returning it for another scope would be my first option.

Interesting. Has to be the scope then. Great sight picture and such. Ill have to look into adjusting the objective lens. Doubt any warranty

If the objective lens locking ring is not glued in place, I think you can adjust the parallax setting to go lower than 13 yards by rotating the objective lens in or out until 10 yards is clear. You will have to recalibrate your side wheel again.
That worked!! Inwould have never tried that but the locking ring was not glued and easily came off and the lens turned easy enough to where i got it to parallax very clear at 6-7yards. Maybe less.

Do your measuring in close via physical TAPE MEASURE ... don't trust electronics !!!

Mid scope .... Tho in practice you proof your numbers.
Physical range really does not matter, it is just a number one sees as range and then uses as reference to a D.O.P.E. chart you have created.
In all my years seldom does a ballistic program match what rifle is actually shooting often requiring tweaks to be accurately usable.

Make sure it will still go to 55 yards. Adjusting the objective lens so it focuses that closely, will shorten the longest distance that it will focus at. You don't get something for nothing.
