screw-on vs. slip-on pellet tin lids

Pellet tins with slip-on lids are a pet peeve of mine and the only tins I've ever spilled pellets everywhere from.

So I saved some empty tins with screw-on lids and used a hair dryer to heat, remove and transfer paper labels from frequently used tins with slip-on lids. When I open another tin with a slip-on lid I dump the pellets into the appropriately labeled tin with a screw-on lid and toss the other.

When labels are printed directly on the metal and cannot be transferred I use masking tape on the screw-on lid and record the information with a pen.

Vogel wadcutters come with screw top lids AND a foam lining to protect the pellets. The vintage screw top lid tins labeled National and Minutemen have very coarse threads and open and close the easiest. Rotating the lid only 10 degrees is required to open and close.

I now use the BEST pellet container ever! IMO It's sold by humangear.com It's a one handed operation container. Squeese the sides to open, to close press the center of the lid. It's kinda like a tuperware plastic.

As a gag, a friend gave me a Kangrago leather testicle. No stitches in it. Draw string top closure.

I have a pellet container collection. Many are repurposed stuff you find in antique shops. I'm always on the lookout to add to the collection.

Based on only 60 years of obsessive airgunning, I pronounce the following pellet tin the most functional I've ever used. Matter of fact, I no longer capture State and National Champion titles without it.
