Tuning Scuba tank/ Big Bore

Hey y’all

i have a Texan SS .457 and my Aluminum 80 Scuba Tank w/Airforce Swing line K-Valve only fills the rifle to 2000 psi. Is this normal??

That seems strange, I think even a full scuba would always fill below 3k psi but that seems extra low. Maybe time for an scba?

I agree with Glem, seems low. What's the MAX pressure rating for your Scuba tank?

It’s a 3000 psi tank. I had an SS in .308 and same thing. It’s possible the tank wasn’t completely full when I got it. I did shoot 150 rounds or so off it already though

you shot 150 rounds off it already, I would say that's normal. 3000 psi to start, 150 shots and down to 2000 psi. time for a 4500 psi tank.

I only get a few fills off my 3000psi tank for my big bore. I top off with a hand pump as the pressure goes down. Once I get below 2500psi, it is time to get it filled. It sounds fairly normal to me. If you get a 4500psi tank, make sure your shop can actually fill it to 4500 psi, the dive shop I go to cannot.

i never thought of using a dive shop.. i have been paying my kid to use a HI pressure bicycle pump for me ..loll
