So why the picture of a magnifying glass? HOW ABOUT WHAT IT IS.....SEARCH. N0 pics for anything else so why a pic instead of SEARCH.

I was under the impression that a magnifying glass was pretty much the universal symbol for "search" that transcends language barriers. Theres also 3 dots right next to it that typically means "more options"

It's my understanding that the magnifying glass has been used as the symbol for a search since the beginning of the internet. Representing a closer look, I believe it was Abraham Lincoln that set that particular standard.

Surlock Holmes used one to search. So it's a thing for a magnifying glass to be used.. then maybe new generation ain't well read/ cultured to add that one up ? ( Not saying im well read or cultured as a old guy by any means)

I dont know maybe some take the magnifying glass as the expand page/ picture feature.. best go ask facebook ( sorry i mean meta) . Cause if facebook says its so then it is without question.. and gosh forbid you question them.

I always associated the search function with a magnifying glass. Magnifying glass = Sherlock Holmes. I am pretty sure I read every one of his books twice growing up. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is an excellent author, highly recommended.

So pages of complaints about people not using the search function but lets NOT make the word search obvious. You all should be politicians, you know, hide the facts. Now I know why I am the only guy out of the roughly 15 airgunners I know that looks at this forum, Its a shame the people it turns off, I have learned a good bit here. Good and sorry to say bad.

Um.... what am I missing? The box has both a magnifying glass as well as the word "Search..." inside of it.

I'm not real big on magnifying board regulation, but a mandatory spell-check on thread titles would be nice. It would make our searches a bit easier.
