The flickering will really depend on your combination of IR sensor and flashlight. One way to potentially get rid of the flicker would be to change the scanning frequency of your scope. Flicker can be caused by your flashlight's frequency and your sensor's frequency being close but not exactly the same.

So we did notice the binos flickering after watching a recording and couldn't figure out why, this makes sense now

PS: I hope, actually I'm pretty sure, that your Sightmark has a place to turn off the free advertising for the brand (and Sightmark is not the only offenders....)
I also wonder (I have not had the joy or the cash to get into nightvision, but it's unavoidable), if this scope offers different reticles, or a thinner, less bright reticle — as it sometimes covers up the prey, or distracts with its brightness.

Yes it does offer different reticles and this is something I am going to play with, i think the "open circle" ret might be better for this particular task if I am to be honest about it, I have to look into turning off the watermark/brand as well.

Could I trouble you to post a video of toggling through the different reticles on this scope? Would be expecially cool if it was on a grid type target where you could see how much each one covers a smallish aim point.
I don't know if that's even possible but it would be most helpful for those considering this optic.

Interesting to note, Sightmark now sells the mini in 2-16x32 and 4-32x32. I think the original model (the one I have) is the 2-16.
