As far as small personal compressors to just fill guns I would say the gx cs2. Seem rock solid and there is part availability if you ever need to rebuild the piston. For filling tanks that is a bit trickier as I have no experience with them. However just going for a bang for the buck I would give the nod to the gxcs4. Under 500 dollars and capable of topping off a 60 min scba. Kind of hard to beat that. It isn’t going to do it super fast. When you get to something like the alkin that is going to do it quickly and for many years. Probably one of the ultimate best options for filling scba tanks but it is like 4 grand or maybe more now ?

the daystate 240V one for me has been flawless for years. and jams tanks full very quickly...

If by "for the money" you mean longevity for not a lot of bucks I'd have to say Yong Heng. I got 3.5 years on my 1st one with a FULL refund when it died (Assurion 4 yr. Extended Warranty). Hard to beat that. However you don't mention much in the way of what you're looking for (portable, home unit, guns/tanks/both, etc.)
