Seeking super sharp glass

If you want to step back in time just a bit. Leupold 6.5-20x40.
There is your 3x to 4x zoom ratio. And your , " contrasty." I'll add to this Accurate color rendition, and pleasing to the eye.
The rest of this is a no-brainier. About Scopes.
Camera's : That is different. You cannot compare a premium rifle scope to a Digital Camera. It does not matter how far that camera zooms.
Especially a Celly phone. The size of the sensor in a , full frame, 2025 , top of the line , mirror-less camera is about 3-5-7K, Or more. Is 35mm. By contrast, the cell phone sensor is about the size of your pinky fingernail. That means the larger the sensor in the camera ( the more photosites along with density) along with auto-focus, is better than your eyes. Now if you post process that image. Of course it's going to be sharp and contrasty, for your eyes.
Now, you have to buy a Lens.
Not just any lens. One that gets out there.
That is going to be a 600mm or more. Depending.
It will be big and heavy. It will be expensive. And then you have to learn to use it.

Conversely.
The Rifle optic may well have better, or even, the best glass.
It will be bright. It will focus sharply. But you cannot control the light with a rifle scope. The light is what creates the image.
You Can control light , with a camera.
I hope this helps you in your, search.

I too, practice with camera's, Len's and light.

I have been planning my next purchase will be the exact Leupold you mentioned above for a few months now. In fact I will be ordering one at the first of the month. The only issue I have is that the reticle isn't the exact one I want. The physics and engineering of optics and related digital technology are often just a mystery to me that I let the experts handle. Oh, poor me-I'm spoiled to the good life and complaining about not having the perfect scope. Great pic btw!

thank you, sir.
I really appreciate that

I was like you and searching for a quality glass as my eyes are getting older so I wanted high quality glass, but also 10 yard parallax, FFP, wide angle, not too long, as light weight as possible. My choice was the March 4.5x28x52 wide angle with lockable Shuriken turrets, illuminated scope. For me I think it was between this and the Smidt and Bender but I preferred the more compact and lighter March scope. Also other brands like Leopold and others they did not have the 10 yard parallax or all of the other specs I wanted.

The worst thing can happen when you ask the open forum and twenty people chime in with seventeen ideas.
I was also a money making photographer in 80's and 90's, and today still have great glasses weighting a concrete block.
In the past half a decade I bought more then a dozen mid to high quality scopes based on user recommendations and reviews. None of these in my pocket today ;) .
We had a user here couple years back, he's name is Rhea, not sure how often he visits here back. I didn't like much he's style of communicating about products but I appreciate he's knowledge and volume testing it.
When I was ready to buy my long range target scope I asked him for advise. I already had my own preferences in optics and it was easy for me to communicate.
I got a Falcon X50T 10-50x60, NATO specs long range scope, during Brexit time.
I am dual purposing this my scope between my 100 M BR Impact and my W308 f-class rifle.

Here is a link to he's channel, I would advise you to talk to him :) Tell him what are your idea.

this is a common misconception.
They DO have a target scope that Does parallax correct at 10 yards.
Leopold does NOT have any FFP scopes that are illuminated with a 10 yard parallax. Many of the other brands are also the same as the only ones they have with a 10 yard parallax are SFP. If I am wrong show me one.

I agree he does no BS reviews and I know him and have purchased a scope from him. BUT we are air rifle shooters, and the OP wanted a high quality end game level scope. That is a bid difference has Cycloops is NOT focused on air rifle scopes so most of his review will NOT have the low 10 yard parallax most air gun owners want. Also he most of his reviews are more of the mid and lower priced scopes. Also everyone has their own important scope desires so it is hard to find one place for hones reviews that meet those needs. For me I only want a FFP scope, with 10 yard parallax, wide angle, Japanese glass that is high quality, good magnification, compact, light and good for hunting or target. He has not reviewed the level of brands that would be an end game scope as the OP wanted end game glass which would be more Japanese & German glass like March, Schmidt & Bender, etc.

With all due respect. Nobody said Leupold did.
If I'm wrong , show me. Boy that turned the tables right there, didn't it?
I hope you are well. I hope my message finds you, well.

It doesn't cost much asking for opinion. ;)
He knows things ... Nobody said you need to buy from Rea. I didn't buy from him.
He can turn your head in what direction to look for and it is up to your skills to locate the source and the price.
I invested my time researching for prices on Brand and Model, and I found my scope from UK distributor in Netherlands. I saved about 50% on costs vs buying from Canadian source.
The internet is our friend if you know what to look for.
In higher quality Tier2 or even higher Tier1 there is no this gun or that gun scope.

How much does the Valdada's /40mm tubes weigh? It has been my understanding that clarity doesn't increase much after 30mm? Just the adjustment range. AND the weight. Am I dead wrong .... again?

The purpose of increasing the tube size is to increase the amount of turret adjustment, i.e. more clicks. 😊

As JungleShooter says. When it comes to the tubes weight, it is not possible for me to say of course.

JungleShooter is correct about the main advantage and disadvantage jumping from 34 to 40 in my experience. People get confused about what they need for what they want to see. Here is a personal example. I have a c.f. bench rifle with a SVED Sightron with 34 mm tube, 60 mm front objective and power that goes up to 50. Brightest, clearest scope I have ever looked through. I have a pair of them. At 400 and 500 yards, 90 % of the time I can see 6mm bullet holes. The dual focas/ parallel knobs put them into a class by themselves in my opinion. But nearing 78 I have realized those 400 and 500 Yard holes are harder and harder to see. So last fall I put a NF Comp on my one rifle. Not as bright, really miss the dual f/p knob especially when the mirage is running. BUT that 5 extra power makes those bullet holes jump out at me. Picture is not as pretty but it is more efficient for my major need, seeing 500 yard 6mm bullet holes. Decide what you need then start looking through glass to see what fulfills that need the best. Price is not the answer as I see tons of March scopes being resold. Doesn't mean they are bad but that they did not fulfill the need in spite of the premium price.
