Sekhmet Programmer? What is it?

I just received an unexpected package in the mail from Sekhmet.

Sekhmet Programmer - 1.1614278875.jpeg

I assume it's a firmware updater or programmer, but can't find any detail on their website.

Anyone else receive one or have any instructions for use?

No, I’ve never seen that before on any of our gauges. There are a few people here on AGN that tested these gauges for Fred, maybe one of them can chime in and tell us if they’ve seen this phenomenon. I haven’t.

It could be that we charge them before they get to 68-70%. We shoot for 2-3-4 hours or whatever but I don’t think that’s long enough to drop them to 70%. Not the way I have them set up. Ours stay off until you either fire a shot or fill the gun. They stay on for just a few seconds and then turn off automatically until the next shot or fill up. After shooting for the day, we come home and plug them in. The next morning I unplug them, I don’t even check them.

How often do you shoot before you recharge? They hold a charge for a really long time depending on your settings. I’ll run one of our down and see if I can duplicate your problem. I sent Fred a message this morning too. Hopefully one of will hear back soon. Have a good one.

I got an email from Fred this morning. This is indeed a plug in usb device to “update firmware and make a better user experience.” Fred said to be sure to join the Sekhmet user page on Facebook where he will post details this upcoming week. It sounds like anyone who was part of the test group will have these sent to them. Pretty cool!

Minime——You shouldn’t have to upload software with new gauges. Attach them to your gun, charge them up and use them. If you go to the Sekhmet webpage there are instruction. It will take a few days to get the hang of it but once you do, you’ll love them!

Will do - I popped him an email as well. Will post anything I hear.

Hey stoti - if you have 4 of them maybe you can tell me if you have the same issue I do with the charge % reading. Mine works fine until about 68-70% charge showing and then it just starts flashing the charge symbol on the screen.

Mine does the same thing when it reaches 37%. I have received mine on 11 Mar and I have charged it to 100% and since that day I have been using it untill today it starts to flash battery icon at 37% and then suddenly it shots off and only show the battery icon when pressed. Will see after second charge how it will behave, hopefully it's just a calibration and it reset itself after a full recharge.

We have made a video about how to use the USB tool to upgrade SEKHMET gauge:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmkqX1z-AJY&t=32s

I hope this is easy to understand and easy to use. All kinds of opinions are welcome:)

The upgraded version this time is V4.41.

The main improvements are:

  1. The calculation method of battery power is improved, it can get better battery life;
  2. The recognition of filling and shoting, so that the gauge can count the number of shots better;
  3. Enhance the sensitivity to weak pressure drop, better compatible with small power pcp;
  4. Simplify the system, reduce the situation of crashes.

    Special thanks stoti :)

cts - fyi - I just went to the ftdi driver folder , opened it, and clicked on the ftdi.ft232_drive.exe and it installed the driver. I did not have to point anything to it.

I just successfully upgraded to from 4.36 to 4.41 Mine kept failing until I eventually typed everything into the AVRDUDESS program. I had to select the MCU, type in the fuse lock bits, set the baud rate etc etc. Then I put a glass of water on my head for balance while holding the usb programmer on the gauge and hitting enter to begin the flash while holding my breath at the same time. It worked!!! LOL

No luck here. I tried on three different Windows 10 machines and still can’t get it working. I’m not good at balancing glass of water on my head. LoL

Anyone else got it to work?
