Sekhmet updater issues...

I followed the video to get the drivers installed and the Avrdudess program running, when i hook the updater to my New HP laptop running window 10 64 it cant seem to find the drivers to run the updater and shows it being installed as a usb serial device with no drivers. tried to do a manual point for the driver location. But still no luck getting my update cable running properly.

Anyone out there try this setup and get it running properly?

What do you see listed in Device Manager for USB as a device? What driver does it show?

Does avrdudess show any COM ports?

There is an older version of the FTDI driver that may work with certain FTDI hardware..

Here are some more details on the driver: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/how-to-install-ftdi-drivers/all

But need to know what if anything shows under Device Manager.

i think i got it. it now shows up after installing driver from ftdi for d2xxxx series drivers. it now shows as usb serial ch340 (com7) in device manager. so guessing all should be good to go now.

thanks for the driver point out. Fe7565. granted the one you listed didn't help but it forced me to go direct to FTDI. granted the ones straight from Sekhmet should have worked to begin with.

That’s how it shows up on mine too.

couple of things that the video skipped over which may make a difference:

- Select “Arduino”, select “Atmega 328p”, Baud rate “38400”.

- Make sure the pogo pins don’t slip in your hands while you are writing (program running) or it will brick the device. If that happens, make sure the “program” function is still running and the blue LEDs are flashing...and it will rewrite the firmware from scratch
