Semi-Auto air gun

Wish I could say the same about my K1. Put less than 500 rounds through it and the trigger has locked up four times. It's quite a headache to unlock the trigger, not to mention freezing in an unsafe State since the safety will not engage until it is degassed out of the regulator. After helping me to get a new magazine lever that broke with absolutely no mistreatment,Huben then ignoring me from then on about the trigger problem. Luckily I found a YouTube video that showed the process to get it unlocked. Anyway, hope you continue to have better luck with yours.

I just received the Limited Edition K1 from Ares Airgun today. Haven't shot it yet but I'm looking forward to it. I looked at the LCS, SAM, etc but the long range, accuracy, build quality, and acceptance of slugs out of the box was what sold it for me. True, the mag doesn't come out but it's a trade off; the mag on the K1 has lands that match the barrel so once a pellet is seated, it is already lined and timed to the barrel. For me, this was a big selling point.

I have mags everywhere. It's nice to have one riffle that doesn't need tracking 4-5 mags for it. Plus I plan to mark the outside of the mag to denote certain rounds and use the mag lever to cycle to the round type I want on demand.

I had wanted a reliable and precise semi auto ever since I bought my Steyr LP5 pistol 20 years ago. I tried to be content with BB guns, most of which broke soon after purchase, but they were pretty much just throw away quality. Then I bought a FX Revolution which was a total POS that couldn't even be fixed, what a mistake that was.

I'm glad I waited until I was able to get into a used Steyr ProX which is what I was after when I found out they existed. It's nearly the perfect semiauto air rifle. It's precise, reliable, great ergos, has a good trigger, removable 10shot mags that are high quality machined aluminum, and has a decent shot count.

I would have bought the Huben, it was my #2 choice, but I wanted removable mags.

Argh! I wish you hadn’t said this Steve. Every time I talk myself out of looking at the Steyr because of the price someone goes and posts something about how wonderful the Steyr Pro X is :-(

TMH has been keeping me updated on the progress of his journey with the Huben K1 and I was moving closer and closer to pulling the trigger on one. Now I’m looking at Steyr’s again. Damn you ….LOL….

I really love the idea of the removable magazine too…..

Chris

I was super fortunate because a AGN member that lives a couple hours away was advertising a slightly used ProX. I didn't have all the cash but as it turned out I was able to do a partial trade + cash!

Is the ProX worth it? If one has the $$$$, well yes it is. Knowing what I now know I would have sold some stuff to come up with the money earlier. It is a very satisfying gun.

Nothing better that the Pro x ! I have well over 30000 rounds thru my first X with zero issues except the price

Why no mention of the Edgun Leshey 2?

Not enough experience? I love the Leshiy2. I've had every gun mentioned in this thread except the Huben, and the Leshiy2 is my favorite hands-down. It's interesting to note that although the L2 has a removable magazine, I generally load it in the gun, as though it were a fixed magazine - BUT! - it is so much easier to load than, say, the LCS, because you can just open the gun and all cylinders are available, right there, with no fussing. There's no concern about whether your pellets are seated correctly or not (because they just drop in) and you don't have to wind up the magazine like you do on the Pro-X. The SK-19 and Pro-X both have their pluses, but I sold my Pro-X (to someone who's already commented in this thread), and my SK-19 gets little attention since getting the L2. There's always "the proprietary nature of the user" - which is to say, sometimes something just 'clicks' with you. For me that's the L2, for others, well, your opinions are equally valid.

Yeah, Gregor is definitely a cool cat.

I got my K1 in .25 last week from Ares Tactical Airguns. Can’t beat the deal. I’ve shot 3 boxes of the FX Hybrid slugs with it, prob 150 Neilson 26.8 dish base, a few 36.2, and a few mags of AA pellets. So I’m getting closer to 1,000 rounds. By the weekend for sure.
I mentioned on another thread on the forum; it’s been real forgiving. I carelessly left the lever up like at least 3 times, and it cycled a bit, then puffed out the magazine like it blew a breech oring. Flipped it back down, felt the mag with my hand, And off she went next shot without issue!
Then I shot it below the reg twice. It made an even louder poof!, but soon as I charged it, off she went.

Seems really hardy, although I see the intricacy of the action, lol. Looks like many a slip, twix cup and a lip….to be had only if!! Ha ha! But for me, it’s acted really stout. I’m in love with the compact nature, stock design, and almost quiet as The Impact!
