sending air guns to Europe

I was wondering if it is a problem if a airgun is send to Europe?
There are some nice second hand airguns that have my interrest and i was wondering if someone did send these to Europe.
In my case I live in Holland and we have no restrictions regarding airguns, so no caliber or power restrictions.

I did send some vintage airguns to the USA mostly HW55's and they did arrive fine.

my interrest goes to RAW, War type air rifles, they are nog common in Europe or the second hand marked is not large.

Hope someone has some advice.

I know one gent who had been sending airguns to the Netherlands for several years (mainly older Crosmans, etc.). Recently he began having problems with Dutch Customs (apparently fussing about power output, which he hadn't seen before). At this point I think he gave up in frustration.
Maybe there are different rules for 'importing' vs 'owning' in NL?

I was sending a lot over and in the past year have had customs on both ends rejecting them.

It gets real expensive and frustrating very fast when that starts happening.

Even with the proper paperwork and codes... they still get rejected lately. There's no recourse on the shipping costs and every time the boxes are damaged bad from them opening them up and going through everything.

My guess is they are flagging them from the little restrictions there are. Even with guns that are non-functional.

I've purchased 3 airguns from Krale to be shipped to me in the U. S.. All got here but I had problems with a shipment of 2 P35s. It got held up in the U. S. for the lack of a shipping invoice on the outside of the box. Krale said they put it on there and wouldn't work with UPS to get it resolved. But they would send me the shipping invoice and I sent it to UPS and it was solved. Took about a week. I see the need to understand exactly what paperwork is necessary for the item to clear customs as the biggest potential issue. There are no restrictions from the U. S. government on airguns but some carriers have rules and customs can be an issue even though they have no authority to mess with the shipments. Anything that says "gun" has the potential to be an issue during transportation in the U. S.. There are lots of rules about powder burners and that seems to be used to obstruct airgun shipments at times.

All I can say about my problematic shipment is the shipping invoice was on the box when I got it. Was it put there by UPS or was it always there? I don't know. I was just happy to get the airguns.

Even that will not always work

My last shipment.. they didn't even bother opening the invoice that was on the outside and clearly marked. Not to mention papers were inside as well.

The issue is they can see what is in the box by the codes that are now required for shipping.

Any restrictions WILL cause issues. You have to be 18 to own an airgun there. In the US some states have strong restrictions. All of this is causing issues
