Does anyone know how to lessen the cocking effort on the Seneca Eagle Claw? Maybe a different spring or is there a way to adjust it?

What do you mean loosen? Is the lever stuck in the closed position? With my Eagle, if you were shooting slugs, and cocked the rifle with the barrel elevated, a slug could fall into the receiver. It will jam up. Simply remove 4 screws on side of receiver and remove offending slug.

You would have to install a softer hammer spring which would also lower the amount of power the rifle puts out. You could also disassemble the rifle and polish all of the parts that are involved in the cocking the rifle.
