Set aside the "Dirty Thirty" and grabbed the old Gamo Hunter 440 Slow Mo Sparrow

Gamo Hunter 440 in .177
7.56 gn @ 662 fps....a smokin 7.35 ft lbs!!!

Set aside the 30cal cannon tonight because I didn't want to kill any neighbors on accident. Time get rid of some of these sparrows! Normally it's nothing but headshots but I haven't pulled the trigger on this thing in years. Terrible trigger btw, long as hell but back in the day I loved this thing. Gotta be about 30 years old or more. Used to shoot about 1000 fps, time for a tuneup

Sparrow body shots are by far my favorite. I don't know about 7.35fpe but anywhere from 18-62 they give such a satisfying report. Not to mention the visual display. Whatever hits them,it's the equivalent of a human being hit with a 12pdr.

definitely doesn't sound like the Vulcan 3 when it hits them lol but I was surprised that it zipped right through her. Wasn't expecting that, @ 7 ft lbs thought it would stop inside.

The crop explosions were pleasing. Try a hybrid slug on them at high speed. They're the only slug I've shot that expands INSTANTLY and violently. In fact. I tested on a 16oz deer park water bottle. The slug didn't pass through. There were fragments all over and the bottle exploded. But only the tiny bottom cup and a .25 cal disc remained. I swear to God those things are like lead grenades. If you're shooting larger game you better be hitting CNS or hope the vitals aren't more than 2.5"-3" in
